Miko Andres- World's youngest shooter

If his slide would lock back it would be a BIG help.... His hands are so small I think he is pulling the trigger with his left forefinger!!!!! Hell of a kid!!!!

Definitely cool! Almost looks like he's pulling the trigger with his middle finger 'cause it's the only one that'll reach!

I wonder if it's disabled, like he has a hard time releasing the slide lock, but the spring is weak enough that he can rack it? Either way go kid!

He is also the "worlds youngest boxer" in other youtube videos.

I am all for introducing kids to shooting at a young age; don't get me wrong. I don't know if I'd be comfortable with this as a fellow competitor though. The kid is not physically big enough to fire the pistol correctly. This is a problem.

Also, at six years old I'm not sure I'd bank my life on him really being able to understand how important the safety rules are in a dynamic shooting scenario.

I've got nothing against the kid personally. To me it smells like his parents are looking for their 15 minutes at the expense of their kid.

NYC, I'm with you. That kid is an accident waiting to happen. Heck, he broke the 180 every chance he got, swept himself on the reload, and "runs" with his finger on the trigger. I'd have put him down the long, rocky tumble to DQville....<heh heh heh>

Dan

Ps--Hey, "Cute" don't put the bullet back in the tube, gang. "Shot by a toddler" is the same as "shot by anyone else". No thanks.

I'd definitely stay well behind him...and, on the balls of my feet...(ie: 'An accident waiting to happen'...)

Then too, he'd probably benifit from some decent remedial training/corrections, thus vastly reducing the probability of mishap.

Cool video but as expected were some pretty ignorant comments after. I love to see kids introduced to shooting and is such a safe way. Handles a .45 well and has good form. Better than plenty I have seen at the range.

haha awesome.

is that really .45? nice control. even if it was 9mm still nice control.

Wow. That kid is hard core. Notice that he didn't have grips on that pistol? You can tell when he reloads. Anyway, I wish I could control a 1911 that well. Strange how it fails to lock open every time... not sure why that is.

I'm not going to say he doesn't handle the pistol well, because he does- especially for his age. However, I couldn't help but notice that he looked awkward when he was manipulating the pistol. Awkward handling is somethign that (sooner or later) results in accidents. I think that he should wait a few years too young to be shooting pistols- especially centerfire action pistol.

Great kid!

He knows his safety protocol. Well trained.

I truly enjoy seeing youngsters getting into the shooting sports. Always support the little guys, don't turn them away.

Looks like he needs a gunsmith to look over his gun. Failure to lock open on last shot and it looks like he is using more than one finger to pull the trigger. Shouldn't take that much to pull the trigger on a properly tuned 1911.

I would like to see this kid shoot again in about 4 years.

well. hes developing extremely bad shooting habits. everytime hes out he does not know it and when he dry fires he jumps. not a good way to start out.

How come the slide doesn't lock back on the last round ? Seems to me that he lost a lot of time shooting empty chambers. . . .

Dad probably loads ammo for him that has a light charge in it. Light recoil spring, plus what amounts to reduced recoil loads, and the rounds may not have enough oomph to cycle the slide with enough force to activate the slide stop.

Not that this takes away from his accomplishments, it would be a bit much to expect a 6 year old to fire a gun with loads that make Major.
