30-30... Just bought one...

Just picked this one up yesterday...

The one on top is a Marlin 1894ss in 44 mag for comparison. The bottom one is a Marlin 336 SDT. Feels pretty handy and likely my go to whitetail woods rifle with the 1894 as a backup.

30/30 and drop your yardage expectations

Of the choices you posted, I would consider only the 308 MX for 300 yds. But I agree with other posters that this round is unlikely to stand the test of time. So my opinion is go with 30/30 and drop your max distance expectations to not much over 200 yards with the LeverEvolution rounds, or a little under 200 yards if you use flat point bullets.
