I went to the range today to start wearing-in my new 870 Express 20ga. The range that I frequent doesn't have formal courses of fire, but they have five clay throwers and I usually just toss a case of clays and blast 'em outta the sky as best I can.

I was just about done and ready to pack it in when a group of twentysomething girls showed up, all wearing Texas A&M shirts. Turns out that one of them was getting married, and they decided that the bridesmaid party would be done Texas-style at the local shootin' range. I was so impressed with their notion that I decided to take one for the team and stuck around to help them out for a bit.

For the good of the sport, dontchyaknow.

:D

I am glad you were willing to sacrifice and take one for the team. The things we put ourselves through to promote shooting sports. I am proud of you sir.:D

Well, in fairness the most significant coolness of the experience wasn't being surrounded by a bevy of young co-eds, but in the fact that they chose to celebrate the wedding of their friend by taking her to the range.

I'm sure that, in their eyes, I'm, well, like a DAD.

:)

Isn't it the bride's father's job to hold the shotgun at the wedding?

In all seriousness, informal clays with friends is a great way to spend an afternoon.

This is exactly the type of chivelrous display that imparts such positive images of our community. Thank you for your sacrifice. I am always on the lookout for similar opportunities to provide these needed services. Now, who exactly is going to close this thread if it drifts any further??:D
