This is a pretty sweet gun. Super tight fit, very well made you can tell. This is my first 1911 and my first .45ACP. I think my Glocks are getting jealous.

I bought it from a great dealer ([email protected]) who shipped it off super fast. It took me two days to get the gun after I decided I wanted it.

Ooooo I like that look of that. how much did that run?

Just about $1K, after FFL transfer fees, etc...

They say that this is the poor man's Ed Brown. Here are some specs.

Here's mine with new grips, not that anything was wrong with the factory grips. I just like these!

Make sure you have it wet when you start shooting they need lubed good first 50 or so rounds. Remember they are tight a little extra lube won't hurt other than a little mess
Mine has been my best 1911 it has been flawless and very accurate Make me look go when shooting
I am thinking of replacing a Colt with another one I replaced a Kimber to buy one I have at present.

Just got another CBOB this one is an 09'

Just recieved my second DW CBOB today and this one is of the most recent production i will tell you it has come to my attention that there have a number of positive changes made on this run. The hammer and bushing are stainless instead of blue the slide to frame fit is just as tight, but i went and shot 212 rounds exactly today and I didnt have one FTF or one FTE this is a big step up from my older modle which now runs great as well after a short break in period its got yellow rear trijicon night sights and a green front trijicon night site. I upgraded it with a new Ed Brown snake skin MSH and a pair of black VZ Alien grips and I have a nighthawk custom match trigger coming in it should be here tomorrow.. Im glad that there are so many people that enjoy this gun because it is most definatly one of the Greatest.. Some people say its a poor mans Kobra Carry or Executive Carry but I think it is the smart mans Kobra or Executive carry. I have a Kobra and i really cant tell a difference in the Slide to Frame fit or the overall gun that would make me pay $1500 more than i paid for the DW its the smartest buy you can possibly get. if i didnt get it before the CBOB i probably wouldnt have bought it but i still love my ED and will not get rid of it. Congrats to all of you CBOB owners out there; for in my oppinion you own one of the best..
Happy Holidays!!!!!

Its a myth unless you have pics.

The hammer and bushing are stainless instead of blue
Never seen a blue bushing or hammer on a CBOB from the factory. I know that there are a few out there that are coated black but I have never seen a blue DW CBOB?

The hammer and bushing used to be blued on all of them. Seems like this started changing in '08, but it might've been '07. Can't remember now. I'm fairly sure all the '08 models had stainless bushings, but some shipped with blued hammers, and others with stainless. There didn't seem to be any pattern to it, just sort of random. I have a November '08 with a stainless bushing and blued hammer:

Edit to add: The extractor is also blued on mine, FWIW.

I have had my CBOB since 2006 no blue anywhere on the gun. My guess is that it was a matter of parts availability not really a year issue.

Weird, my '08 CBoB is all stainless. Bought mine in Jan or March.

Nice score!

Haven't had the chance to get to the range with mine yet

Awesome fit & finish; very tight.

I always thought the bobtail looked funny until I actually handled one. It followed me home :D

I love my DW CBOB in 10mm.

I did work the slide on the frame about 1000 times with plenty of oil before going shooting. It was still finicky about feeding all of the different ammo I tried. Now after about 150 rounds through it, it eats all types of factory ammo.

Well heck, maybe it was earlier than what I was thinking, but I could just about swear that at one time the bushings were blued on all of them. Maybe it was up 'till '05? My memory's been wrong before though. I think the parts availability statement is right on the mark for the years between then and the '09s (which were all stainless from what I recall).

RockyMtn, you did good at any rate. My DW is my favorite pistol that I own.

hey ya'll just found one of these in 45 acp for a little under $1100 out the door locally. How does that price compare to what you have seen at local shops? It's about the same as I've seen everywhere online...

That's about the going rate. If I were in the market for another, I'd snag it.
