Well, went to the local gun store today and ordered a Dan Wesson Classic Bobtail today. Can't wait! It shoud get here first part of next week. :D

Very nice guns. Mine failed to lock the slide back once Sunday, I'm trying to decide whether to try to bring the mag follower lip out by peening or try to extend the catch on the slide stop where it hits the mag follower. I'll shoot it with non DW mags and isolate the problem. No FTF or FTE yet, about 200 rds.

I had the .45 for about a year. Pointed well and with nice reliability.
Had to sacrifice it in a time of financial need.

Some say that the DW mags are junk. My gun ran fine with them and
Ed Brown mags.

Hey cougfan, please let us know how it shoots, what the groupings are like, reliability, etc.

I've been wanting to get one for quite some time now but I just took a plunge and dropped over $1K on an AR, so it will be a few more months.

Congratulations Sir! I love mine. I've had 500 trouble free rounds so far - all through DW mags.

I'm seriously considering getting a Dan Wesson, but am having a hard time deciding between the CBOB and the Pointman 7. I like the longer barrel of the Pointman, for accuracy, but like the looks of, and the stock sights better, on the CBOB. I found a barely-used Pointman at a local gun shop for $735 - my original impulse was to jump on it, but I don't want to make my most expensive gun purchase to date simply on price. Another local gun shop has both models new, both for $949. Any advice/suggestions?

Tamlin, I picked up my CBOB for $949 plus the $10 NICS fee so you're in the ball park. If you go to the actual Dan Wesson company website, http://danwesson.sectordevelopment.com/ , rather than the CZ website who distributes them, you can see them firing 5 rounds from a machine rest at 50 ft. with 4 rounds into one ragged hole and one round slightly outside of the hole.

The gun definitely shoots better than I aim. Can't wait to punch some paper with it. :D

Guitargod1985 Will definitely post a range report.

BTW I used to rep in the music industry. I worked for Ovation Instruments and Gibson. Send me a PM and tell me about your axes. :D

10-ring I have some Kimber and Brownell's mags that work flawlessly in my LW Springer 1911. The stock Springer mags are crap. :barf: I'm sure they will work great in my DW! I'm PUUUUMPED to get my DW and take it out to the range. Will definitely file a range report. :)

I've had my CBOB since Christmas Eve (perfect timing). Both the stock Dan Wesson mags have been flawless...I wonder if they're getting a new OEM? I also picked up a few Wilson low-profile mags...all have worked great. I have about 700 rounds through it so far with on the first 50 rounds or so there were a couple of instances where the slide didn't go all the way into battery. No issues since. I need to get a good IWB so I can start carrying it before it warms up too much and will be harder to conceal! Give us a range report/review when it comes in,

ROCK6
