So I got this beautiful (or so I thought) SKB 605 DU in 20ga for a great deal ($650) off gunbroker.

Then today, I happily went to Dennis (my ffl) to pick it up.. And so I see this great looking shotgun sitting in its case as happy as it can be.. I fill out the 4473, he calls it in while I inspect the thing.. What's this--?

A ding in the barrel? wth.. So I looked in the tube and see the ding actually protruded into the barrel itself and then see a faint ring in the lower barrel!

I showed it to Dennis and he was shocked and immediately said, send this thing back.. The 'smith walked in to the shop and showed it to the smith. The smith said "no way this thing aint worth the price anymore"..

The seller did not mention this at all in the auction -- If he had i wouldn't have bid on it at all, the pictures did not show anything either....

I guess back it goes to the seller, hopefully with a full refund if he doesn't do this, well I'll just have to contact the appropriate *sigh* and nobody has a decent o/u 20ga up on auction lately either in that price range.. :(

I'm sad also because it handled great and felt even better than any other shotguns I've held in some time.. Nice, slim, and light.

No pictures since it's at the FFL at this time.

Sorry to hear that. It is a great gun, but only if not messed up.

Good luck getting this resolved.

That's no good.

He should definitely make it right considering there was no mention of the defect .

Did the seller have good previous feedback?

oneounceload -- yep I agree, I really like how they handle, I have no opposition aganist the 505 either, but no 500s though -- no chokes.

685 looks good too but bit pricey..

ArmedBear -- I will check that one out thanks.

Dale -- Yeah I'm really bummed over it, still.

The 500 doesn't have the range versatility, but the fixed barrels are light and wonderfully balanced. I like my fixed 20 Gauge, but I generally just use it in the field.

I'm odd though - I shoot wonderfully with clays with full chokes..

I do have a mossberg 500a with fixed modified and it's fine with me. I do want "modularity".

oneounceload -- no tubes, sorry for the mistake there.
