Found an over and under at the gun show today. It was an off brand 20ga for $175 used. Looked to be in good condition, however it had fixed choke barrels that were Improved/mod over Full. The seller said he tries out all of his used guns and told me it will function. He also offered a 30 day money back trial. Now as for my skeet shooting my average is only 13 so I thought the tight fixed choke barrels would cause a sharp decline in my hitting percentage. I elected to pass on it however its still in the back of my mind. I mean a shotgun for $175. I could probably offer him $150 cash and be out the door with it.... Or I could save my pennies for a nice non fixed choke 20ga. What do you guys think?

What was the name of the gun?

Chokes can either be opened up and still remain fixed, or someone like Briley can thread them and you can have choke tubes - cost will be more than your gun for tube installation

save the 150 and apply to a decent shotgun. If it didnt trip your trigger then, your not going to be any happier 30 days and 150 bucks later.

Do that....you'll be much happier in the end. ;)

Fixed chokes aren't the handicap most folks like to think they are - if the gun is choked for your particular application, then fixed can work well

Don't recall the brand. I think it was a Boito Biocci, or something like that. I elected not to go back for it. I did like it because it was a double trigger rather than barrel select. Not many companies making those these days.

>>True, but having them opened up to SK/SK or SK/IC can be done for about $100<<

That's right, and I've done it. Not worth it when the gun's a POS to begin with. ;)
