Where/how to sell, DFW, TX? LINKS TO SALE ADDED

Hi guys,

It's been a while, 3-4 years at least, since I visited the forum and probably about 4 or 5 years since I last went to the range with my THR DFW buddies or to the range at all for that matter. My obsession just wore off and with having kids I could not afford to go shooting or buy more ammo.

So, I have a bunch of ammo and I had stocked up and never got to use and a rifle all of which I now need to sell. I'm way rusty on gun stuff and never sold anything before so I needed to ask:

What's the best place/way to go about this? Gun Show, if internet then what websites are good, etc.

I see a forum for sale of rifles here but not ammo. Is it legal to sell ammo as a private citizen? I would appriciate any help.

It would be nice to sell all in one place and even better to one person but I'm not sure if that's possible.

Any idea on fair price to ask for the following items? I have not googled around for prices yet.

Here is what I'm going to try to sell:

-S&B .45 ACP 239 grs FMJ 14 boxes of 50=700 rounds
-Blazer .45 one box of 50 rounds.
-Remington .45 ACP 239 grs FMJ 4 boxes of 50=200 rounds
-Winchester 9mm LUGER 115 FMJ box of 500 rounds
-Blazer 9mm 3 boxes of 50=150 rounds
-S&B .38 spc. FMJ 50 in box 100 loose = 150
-S&B .38 spc. Wadcutter 1 box=50 rounds
-BF Ball .308/7.62x51mm =700 rounds
-CETME .308 Rifle + 4 mags + flash suppersor (unattached)+ bayonet + rifle sling+rifle carry case+ trigger kit+ejection deflector+cheap plastice tri-pod. Rifle was fired 300 rounds.

I also have cz 97b and p-01 but would need a more pain in my life to be forced to sell those. Let's hope it does not come to that.

Thanks

ammo

Hello there, You can list it under "Buy, Sell, Trade, Accesories"
But you have to have a selling price, you not supposed to list as best offer or anything like that. Sent you a P.M. on the 9mm Winchester ammo.

Deckard.

I vote GunsAmerica.com. ;)

Look on samcoglobal.com for what ammo is going for right now. It's high.

You will have people on this forum offering to buy it I'm sure as well. Just check the going prices.

The CETME is going for $500-$600 right now. I don't know if the stuff with it would justify more. I'd post it on GA for $650 first. I saw one the other day going for $700 with 300 rounds of ammo and 20 mags, so take that for what it is worth. Guns like that are about 3 months out of an inflated boom and the market has kind of crashed on them now. Before the boom I paid $400 each for the two I have I think.

You can always post it to our Yahoo group. I can't remember, but I thought you were a member of it. If it's a rare, expensive, or otherwise hard to move piece, I've always used Gunbroker.

I got my .357 off GunsamericA! Just don't be an internet newb buyer. If the seller seems suspicious, it's because he IS!

I'm not talking about "suspicous sellers", I'm talking about dedicated phishing operations going on, using GA to reel in the rubes . .

I've not found any of that sort of thing on Gunbroker.

Thank you for the tips guys. I will take some time to look around. I'm also going to add a Homak double sided 8 gun cabinet See it here- www.sportsmansguide.comthat I bought new and never installed or used.

I will be posting here in "Buy/Sell/Trade Accessories" and Rifles and will post a link at the Yahoo group. I will take a little time to inventory & take pictures of everything. I hope to post the sale by the end of the weekend.

Here is a picture of me shooting the Cetme .308 from our April '04 THR DFW outing.

You can also use American classifieds ( formerly thrifty nickel ). I did it 2 months ago sold a boat, motor, 3 scopes and a youth model rifle all in about 1week. You can have them come to your house or meet you somewhere else as I did.

If I were in the States (or would be there any time soon) I'd make an offer on the .45 ammo. Being a contractor is great, but vacation won't happen until mid July for me.

aw, no .270? and I'm curious as to what range that is as well, I've been to a couple in the area and don't recognize it.

As to legality, you're perfectly fine selling the ammo. Though if you mail it to the buyer be careful on shipping restrictions. With the rifle, for FtF all you need is no knowledge that the buyer is a felon, and at least 18. Online you'll likely have to go through a FFL dealer. If you need one (NE Dallas) try this other THR guy:

Thank you again for the help. This was a range in Mesquite, Tx area. I don't recall the name. It's been almost 6 years. I do recall a certain someone's nipple getting pinched between the butt of a rifle and the concrete bench from the recoil, some wild running about and wild laughter. I will never forget that... lol.
