What is the best compact 9mm for concealed carry- I'm thinking smaller than a glock 19 and thinner too... If there is something like that please share your info!!!

The Walther PPS gets overlooked so often.

Thin and concealable, but shoots like a full-size pistol. And unlike with Kahr pistols, you have pretty good odds of getting one that works out of the box!:neener:

It will run you at least $600 though if you buy it new.

So far all that has been offered up are sub compact pistols and you want a compact. One of the best compact pistols a little smaller than the G19 is the SIG P239. It is a single stack so it has less to print through summer clothing, 8+1 9mm, 7+1 .40S&W or .357SIG. I would get it with the nightsights just in case. The P239 is an accurate reliable pistol, it will out shoot anything suggested so far, conceal very well, a pistol that you could be proud of. Just one more suggestion would be the CZ 75D PCR, a very concealable, shootable double stack 9mm. I cannot say I have any real experience with the Kahr or Keltec, have shot the Keltec, too small for a 9mm imo. I will probably never own or even waste my time looking at the Kahr as I can find better for the money, again my opinion.

I really like my Para Ordnance Carry 9. It is a 1911-style but with the LDA trigger system you do not have the "hammer back" issue. The pistol is not larger than my Beretta .380 and I have found it very accurate and easy to carry.

"hammer back" issue.
What is a "hammer back" issue?

As to the OP, I really like my PPS, but if you have and like your Block, it isn't that hard to conceal if you're willing to dress for IWB carry.

Thin compact & subcompact 9mm pistols:
Walther PPS
KelTec pf9 and pf11
Kahr (many models)
Rohrbaugh R9
Taurus pt709
Springfield EMP
(I'm sure I missed a few)

You are hardly the first to go looking for a smaller gun, I'd suggest searching and asking a more specific question after trying out a few rentals or friends' guns.

My two favorite 9mm's for concealed carry are

Khar PM9 if you pocket carry or Walther PPS for IWB. Both are great guns, accurate and reliable. If you go with a PM9 make sure you shoot the required 200 rounds for break-in prior to carrying. Don't be surprised by FTF and FTE during the break-in period, but it will smooth out and work flawlessly once broken in. The PPS is incredibly thin and easy to conceal and mine hasn't experienced a hiccup through ~600 rounds.

Re "hammer back", forgive my use of terminology. I mean that in the 1911-style pistol carried Condition One (that is, a round in the chamber and the pistol cocked with the thumb safety engaged, also referred to as cocked and locked), some people dislike carrying a pistol in this manner. The issue has been debated to death and I won't go into it here. Para Ordnance has created a trigger mechanism for some of its 1911 models called the LDA (for Light Double Action) in which the pistol can be carried with a round in the chamber but the hammer down instead of cocked, and the pistol is fired just by pulling the trigger without the need to cock the hammer first. Some people prefer it.

Maybe I missed it, but I can't believe that nobody has mentioned the Sig P239.

Slimmer than a Glock and it shoots oh so nice.

Another good choice would be the Sig P6 if you can still find any around. Most of the guys that have them though do not part with them.
