Smith & Wesson Model 1 1/2 revolver in .32 rim fire short. I had the gun "papered" by Smith and Wesson.
It was sold on December 9, 1869 in New York City (no Sullivan laws, I guess:D ) through M.W. Robinson, S&W's largest distributor at the time.

herohog........ I have one of those gen 1 59s too, how ya like yours? If it weren't for the weight i'd carry mine full time. I love it!

M2 HB.1942.

Cost me a whopping $1500 USD.

Its not the oldest, but its my favourite.Outside the US automatic weapons are not that expensive. The process of obtaining the correct License can be long however.

I'm going to add a few more. I'm not sure how old they are, but they're at least forty years old. Probably older.

Ithaca 49 Single Shot 22. I'd like to know how old this one is. I remember seeing them at Sears in the 60's.

Stevens 46, 22 S,L,LR. Again, no idea how old, but it doesn't have a S/N so that should put it pre 1968.

These are old enough to be C&R.

Yugo SKS. 1956 IIRC.

Chinese Type 53, Mosin-Nagant.

Lets see if I can get this one right. Dad (rest his soul) bought this around 1955 at Casto's Hardware in Nitro WV. Barrel marking BXX. Those Xs are real Xs. Means Jan 1951.
Below it is a M29 bought around 1975 in Cross Lanes WV. Ser#403xxx. Anybody know date of manufacture?
Thank you for the correction ISP.

beeenbag, I LOVE them! My 1st I got when they were 1st introduced. The one I have now is to replace that one. It is for my wife. The 1st gun she ever shot was my 59 and she has been upset that I traded it off to pay a tool bill many years ago! I promised to replace it and I did.

Previous owner did a lot of work to it. Replaced the thumb safety and hammer, had it reblued, the barrel jeweled under the ejection port. It really is a sweet shooter, with the best trigger I've seen on any handgun.

I've posted these before so some may have seen them, but this is the type of thread I get all excited about. Love the old stuff.

1917 and 1907 Savages.

nzsr, what caliber is that lead chunker?

The oldest gun i have is a newly aquired, from my father, Tokarev. I believe it is stamped 1950 or 60. I also have a 20ga Mossberg bolt action, circa 1960. I'll post some pics soon.

Howzabout a 1930's Stevens Ideal in .25 Stevens Rimfire?

Or a late 1850's Smith Carbine, used in the Civil War by the 7th and 11th Illinois Cavalry?
