yeah, I said it
:neener:

Seriously, though. I do alot of bicycling and have a bulldog fanny pack for my keltec P3AT. Primary reason I bought that gun to begin with.
The bulldog is cheaply made and has given up on me.
I'd like to replace it with a better made fanny pack of similar size.
  • must be nylon
  • must have its own belt with plastic buckle
  • must have a dedicated holster
  • maximum size would be to also carry my 3" GP100, but certainly no bigger

I'm willing to spend $$ on it as long as it meets the criteria.

And before someone goes suggesting a bunch of alternates, it needs to be a fanny pack. I ride in full kit, and alot of the other systems will either be uncomfortable, flop around, or stick out like a sore thumb. IWB won't work between the sweat and the fact that spandex doesn't conceal firearms very well.

I can't in good conscience recommend a fannypack to anyone. 8) (Oddly enough neither can I recommend spandex. You cyclists are odd!)

As one who is fairly new to pistols but not at all to long guns I have noticed pretty much universal distain on pistol forums for fannypacks and was wondering why or how this came about??
In the case of the original posters needs I could see a use for something along those lines.

Nyet. My cycling shorts do not have belt loops for me to wear a belt that will hold one of those.

Its the only appropriate clothing for serious cycling. Just like suggesting that someone have a proper holster if they are serious about carrying a firearm, I'd never suggest someone go on a 30 mile ride with me wearing cut off shorts and a teeshirt. A small fannypack doesn't really look out of place on a cyclist, which makes it the most sensical solution.

They are generally considered unstylish for daily use, and also are seen as a tell that the person is probably carrying. I'm in a pair of shorts, teshirt and flipflops right now. A KelTec IWB would be fully hidden, but a fanny pack would stick out like a sore thumb. In daily life, if I see a fanny pack, I almost always think "gun" first.

What I'm hearing is that nothing says "I'm carrying!" like a fannypack. Which is good, because nobody looks good in a fannypack - they are a real fashion "don't."

However, that said, bicyclists often wear them and this is an exception to the rule. You expect a cycling to have one and so they don't look out of place on the pedal-pushing set. Here's a possibility from copsplus.

That's strange Shockwave because I have seen many people of all walks of life using a fannypack and I never once even thought that it contained a firearm in it.
So....

I have one made by Anderson Enterprises I picked up a long time ago - they made them in various sizes - I have the small one - it will hold my G26 plus a spare mag in the gun part, plus has several pockets for misc. stuff AND it didn't come in "I'm carrying a gun" black. Plaid Bermuda shorts and striped golf shirt are optional..... :D

When I use it now, it is to carry everything together whil;e in my car - it fits in the door panel map area and looks innocent enough when we stop at a motel and I carry it in...........

CamelBak Goblin

Can't seem to find it listed on the Camelbak site, but here's a link to an old conversation about it on XDTalk.

And here's a link to an Australian site selling the things.

If that doesn't work out, maybe the Camelbak Montana, here.

He says he "rides in full kit" so I assume it includes full leathers and helmet. No one would think anything odd about such a pack on a motorcyclist.

I have a Tommypack that I never used because it looked too tactical. I used to use a fanny pack by Coronado Leather and I don't think I was made very often.
