Last week, I finally decided on a bolt action .22 and went with the Marlin 981T. It has a composite/polymer stock and great looking black anodized barrel. The feedtube will hold up to 17 .22 longs.

I added on a cheap Bushnell scope and took it to the range this last weekend and sighted it in.

On to the pictures:

Very nice! I have the same gun and it's probably my favorite plinker. Great shooting gun. I have a cheapy Bushnell 3-9 on it and it shoots Ritz crackers at 50-100 yards all day long. I love the high capacity, the fact that it can take S,L&LR and it's big enough that it feels like a real rifle and not a toy. I'm sure you'll be as happy with yours as I am with mine. Good choice!

So far, I love it! The high capacity is very nice. Load it up and it's good for 17 shots. The targets shown were only two of a bunch. I put roughly 500 through the gun at two sessions this past weekend, so I think I have it pretty well sighted, as well as broken in!

Plus the bolt gives you a bit of a workout :D

Congrats! Nice rifle, and even have one myself. The trigger is a bit heavy, but it still shoots well.

You might want to take a look at the Marlin subforum at RimfireCentral. They have stickies about modifying the triggers on Marlin bolt actions, as well as replacing the composite stock with a wood one on the 981T.
