Hello, I am new here and new to owning a firearm. I already posted on the intro thread. I just purchased my first handgun. A Beretta 92FS.
I already used the search function here and google to to find out info on converting my 92fs to a left side magazine release. I know that there has to be some lefty Beretta owners here, so I thought I would ask.
Where can I find some info or diagrams/videos on converting the mag release to the left side?
Hey thanks in advance and any other info for lefties ,,like grip accessories and other stuff for lefty Beretta owners.
Thanks,
Mo

Thanks, those videos are really well made. Hey is there any other info on grips and stuff or is it better to leave those ambidextrous? The videos show a real fancy looking Beretta with fancy looking grips. Are those practical or just a gimmick?

I'm a lefty and have always found it easier to leave the mag release as is and use my trigger finger to manipulate it.

My fav grips are just plain Hogue grip panels. Not the wrap-around grips with the finger grooves (they make the grip too fat). But just the plain rubber grip panels. I have them on all of my Berettas. Fantastic.

more leftys

Glad to meet the leftys here. I plan on practicing with both hands to be ambidextrous. I learned right handed with the little shooting I did as a kid when my step dad used to let me shoot the 12 gauge once in a while and the times when I shot .22 rifles and stuff.
I write left handed, throw a ball right handed, I can throw a frisbee left or right handed, I can hammer left or right, split wood left or right, but on those two I am stronger on the right side. I learned how to arc weld right handed and it 'seems' easier to me, but when I tried it left handed, (even though it takes more effort) my beads look better and are more accurate.
My left eye is dominant and I seem to be more accurate shooting left. So since I started right hand, I am going to practice on both sides just for versatility.
My sister says, 'no wonder you are mixed up all the time'.

thanks Sheldon, maybe I will just leave the mag rel. right where it is for now.
And to Shipwreck I will look up those standard rubber grips made by Houge.

Best online deals

Anyone have any suggestions for the best deals on parts and accessories? Oh yeah, and any comments on the best 9mm ammo/ Brands. I don't want to buy any cheap junk online. Or is buying online even a good idea?

If you're going to buy on-line, make sure you do it before the new law takes effect.

I shoot CCI Blazer almost exclusively...clean and accurate.

If you aren't too far from Grass Valley, MiWal has good deals when they have their annual sale

Yeah, I want to support my local store but I also want to make a statement, that people should be able to buy ammo any way they choose, online if I want. That is what freedom is all about. That is what America is supposed to be about.
Yeah I want to buy online and support my right to arm myself in a free republic.
I also was wondering if there is a list of ammo brands, ordered in sequence as to the quality and dependability of the rounds. Price also matters.
From the forums I have read 'Federal' seems to be a good brand. What does anyone here think of 'Fiocchi' brand? (for 9mm).

(from Mexifornia) the once 'Golden State'

Hey guys,

Just joined this site today. I found it from a search engine looking for the above mentioned modification. I just purchased mt 92FS yesterday, and I'll be picking it up at a local shop on Thursday. The instructions and pictures linked above are really helpful. Now, I could have sworn in my numerous searches in the last few weeks, that I saw there was a way to change the slide release for left handed shooters as well. Am I remembering correctly, or am I just way off base here?

Thanks,
Josh

No, sorry. No such animal there...
