I need a gunsmith preferably in the North Austin area, but really anywhere in Austin to cut down an old single shot .410 into a snake charmer for my mom's place. Any recommendations?
If I assume you Googled it, I would also have to assume that you contacted the three gunsmiths that Google shows on the north side of Austin. Were they not capable of cutting it?
Cedar ridge sportsmansupply its down south off of hwy290 towards dripping springs but he does it all. I highly recommend him he's been doing my gun transfers for three years but hes an awesome smith. 512-288-7409 his name is gary foster
Heritage and Gun Liquidators both just take in work for off site gunsmiths, and McBride's is expensive. I'll go that route if I have to, but I'd rather deal directly with the gunsmith.
How about Red's in Pflugerville? I am pretty sure they have a smith on site. I took a glock in with a broken spring and they fixed it for $8 (only charged me for the part)

Turns out Red's doesn't have an on site gunsmith either
That may be the one thing I dislike about the gun industry. It seems that it's nearly impossible to meet face to face with the man that's going to be fixing your gun.
