My first suppressor! About a month ago I got my AAC Prodigy. I mounted it on a browning buckmark with a 4" tacsol barrel and rail along with a mueller quickshot red dot sight. I'm have a blast with it. I've only got it to the range one time so far and noticed some rounds keyholing - remington target keyholed the most. I also fed it some winchester subsonic and remington subsonic. Got a few keyholes with both but not as bad as the remington target. I see another stamp on the horizon.

Didn't see any evidence of baffle strikes or anything weird on the crown. Will have to get back for some more testing both with and without can. Maybe keyholing from shorter barrel? Anyone heard of anything like that related to tacsol barrels?

try shooting with and without the suppressor, that will show you whether or not it is the barrel.

What? Keyholing? Why would you have that other than some baffle strikes?
It is possible for a bullet to keyhole without a baffle strike. I have had it happen to a 510 whisper and 458 socom, both unsuppressed using non-gascheck cast bullets.

I've never had that problem with my Tactical Solutions barrel. I mostly shoot the 550 round Remington pack with a few CCI varieties thrown in from time to time.

The rate of twist of their barrel (along with most others) may be too slow to stabilize the Aguilla SSS 60gr round. I could see you getting keyholing because of that. A few companies do make barrels with faster rates of twist just for the SSS round, in case you wondered. Like I said, no problems with my barrel. In fact, it reduced the size of my groups by half, just like they claim.
