Hello to all!

I have a 357 LCR and love it. Shoots like a dream with everything from. 38s up to moderate mags. Full house rounds are awful...

So my question to the board. I am looking at the DPX in the 125gr mag loading. Is ther any data that exists on velocity from a 2" bbl anywhere? I am guessing I will see something between 1000-1100 fps range, but am interested in trying to validate that.

Also, has anyone done any testing with this load? Weather formal or informal I would be VERY interested in hearing about it.

I have shot this load a bit and it is controllable and accurate. Just wanting to make sure it is designed within the window that a 2" bbl will allow it to work as intended given proper shot placement.

Thanks to all in advance!

My friend and I both have the 357 LCR. We put 100 rounds each through are guns for test and evaluation. The load we tested was a 125 Grain JHP that the Manufacturer claims dose 1290 fps out of a six in. test barrel. I don't know what it was doing out of the little Ruger but, it sure wasn't no wimp load. The Corbon DPX that he shot had less felt recoil and was easy to shoot. We have loaded are LCRs with the Corbon 357 DPX for are carry load.

Thanks for the reply!

I was actually just looking at BB 357 tactical 140gr loading. Gets about 1085 out of a j frame and is a touch heavier which I like for the colder months around here.

Did you guys shoot any of that?

Random ?- are 125 magnums hard on the forcing cone? I read a post somewhere else that stated this but thought anything under 125's were bad.

My pet SD loading for my 2 1/4" SP101 is Speer Gold Dot 135gr .357 short barrel. I also like the Golden Saber 125gr .357. Both are very mild loads that handle great.
