.25WSSM AR-15 range report

With a barrel that thick and a scope that big I would expect better groups, but it does look very nice and shoots well enough for most practical purposes.
I thought the WSSM was supposed to come close to 2506 ballistics. I am showing faster velocities than that out of my 6mm with 87 grain let alone the '06.

2990 fps with a 120g bullet IS the exact same ballistics as Winchester specifies for 25/06 shooting the same bullet

Looks nice. That would be a great deer rifle.

I really like the looks of that... what is overall length and weight?

Those are groups with FACTORY ammo and a low powered handload. Shot out of a brand new upper.

i agree, out of a bull barrel free floated upper and a big Bushnell scope on it the grouping should NOT be hovering in the 2 MOA areas. Most of the stainless steel 5.56 uppers i've seen gurantees sub-moa groupings

Nice looking deer harvester. There's not substitute for displacement. No other 2.280" OAL cartridge, suitable for the AR action, holds more powder. Making it top of the food chain in the AR power wars. Seems odd there's no front sling loop. Or am I not seeing it? Like stsimons, I wonder what it weights.

How many shot groups?

You gotta remember this is the interwebs where every rifle shoots less than an inch for every group from sight in on. Didn't you know that rifle tuning and load workup is a thing of the past, everything shoots that good now right outta the box and if your gun doesn't it's somehow broken.

Usually for 3 shot groups or now in some cases one shot groups

Unlike some other people, I kinda like the wssm line of cartridges.
That new rifle is a nice clean looking version, and provides potent ballistics to whatever target is chosen .

That sounds a little better, jerkface! That is a sharp looking rig ya got. Shoot a few more through it and get everything settled down. I bet it will put em all in the Xring. I've actually been pretty impressed with some of the cartridges the ARs can shoot now. A friend has a R25 in 243 that will put em all under 2" at 100 using the cheapest factory ammo around. He bought a box of Hornady and found out it will do MOA easy.
