I couldnt see the bolt or safety to identify, so I guessed, either way, nice.
I shoot a blued Howa 1500 .308 except with full power loads and a full sized stock.
But once I start loading I will definitely make reduced loads for coyotes and target shooting.
Shoot even deer, I don't need 2700 feet per second to kill a georgia deer.

The end result of a successful Pennsylvania Deer hunt. I can't wait to go back next year. Even if no Deer were killed, a week in the mountains in a Log Cabin with good friends, good food and drink. You don't need to kill a deer to make that a successful vacation.

My only kill this year her and her larger male friend were stalking the same doe as me. 180 gr corelokt at 20 30 years

Some very cool pics, I'm just getting back into hunting again myself so I dont have anything to contribute yet. I see a lot of coyote pics though, just started trying to hunt them. What are some size ranges of coyotes you encounter? Here in NY they seem to be big, I hit one with my car two months ago...it didn't survive but the neighbor weighed it at a little over 60 pounds. I've seen a few others while riding my 4 wheeler that probably weighed close to that.

The one I shot above was probly 50 ish and about 3 ft nose to tail tip 20" 700 in that photo for perspective. They get medium dog size here in austin

I'm still trying to learn how to hunt coyotes. Hopefully sometime soon I'll get the hang of it. I know they're on our property, we've seen the prints, no luck so far calling them in.

Tomorrow is the final day for late black powder season, so it was time to quit being picky and start filling tags. That's all she wrote for the 2010/11 season. Now to start planning for next year.

2nd buck of the year, dressed out at 198lbs

[/attach]

Taken with a Remington 700 w/ leopold 3x9 with 165gr core-loct at about 50 yards
Had his nose down following a scent trail from a rag we tied to our boots when we walked through the day before
Dropped before he could put his foot down on the step he was taking
Weighed a day later at 198lbs dressed

Hello friends and neighbors // I just got a couple of good eatin 110-120 lb does, never saw the right buck.

Doe 1 with a 1983 Marlin 336as .30-30 with a Bushnell scope from 75yards, side shot, using 150gr Federal power shock sp. She never even turned just dropped.

Doe 2 with a 1958 Remingtom 760 Gamemaster ADL, .30-06 with a Nikon Buckmaster scope, at 75yards ,head on, using 180gr. Rem core-lok sp. She spun in place and dropped.

Glad to have meat in the freezer having had many fine hours in the woods this year.

I took mine with a rem 700 in 30-06 shooting core-loct 165gr... shot at about 50 yds, quartering away with his nose down following the scent from a scentrag tied to a boot when we walked through the day before...didn't even finish the step he was trying to take before he dropped

just reading through this thread and others like it and noticed how many of these animals are harvested with 30-30, .308, 30-06 etc... for all of the talk about a thousand and one different ways to kill a deer it still seems like the old guard still brings home A LOT of meat. nothing against other calibers...just an observation

Not the biggest deer I've shot in recent years, but one I'm proud of. After a slow week, a good friend of mine did a one-man push to me, and I hit this one running at 25 yards with my Taurus M44. This handgun has accounted for my last few deer. This was by far the best shot I've made. God bless red dot scopes. Great venison, too!

Here is my little buck for the muzzleloader season, that I got back in November 2010 with the .50 CAL. By far this is a baby compared to the biggest one I have taken over the years. It just was not my year for anything like an 8 point or bigger. I take an 8 point or bigger ever two years for some odd reason. 2010 was not my year so I would assume that 2011 will be it.

I did take a cow horn spike and a small doe with the 7 MAG. during rifle season.
