BERETTA 92D Ceturion

I picked up a BERETTA 92D Centurion for $350.00.

This is the 9m.m. with the shorter 4.3 inch barrel and slide and full size grip. It is DOUBLE ACTION ONLY. It came with HOGUE grips

Condition was good, but nowhere near new. I took it to the range and shoot 150 out of 150 the first time using FEDERAL fmj.

Do not overlook the D model BERETTA pistols because they are double action only. They generally have outstanding double actions as good as most revolvers.

Since the OP doesn't like all black pieces and has a 300 dollar budget, how about a Ruger P89 stainless? You might get lucky and find one in good shape in a pawnshop, estate sale or newspaper classified ad.

Reliable and accurate, a bit large for the caliber though.

I just picked up a Ruger P95 PR for $320 new, and you can find them cheaper than that, especially if you find a used one. I've yet to shoot it but I've heard great things about them

I picked up a S&W 908S for $275 in excellent condition off Gunsamerica.com last summer. I swapped out the plastic recoil spring guide assembly with the 3913 metal one. I love it and it's my EDC gun. I've fired over 1000 rounds and no malfunctions.

I've seen S&W 3913 and Ruger P89s around here for about $350 used. My biggest concern would be finding magazines for the Smith, but that's just me.

Ruger Sr9c can be had under $400 if you look, but spot on $400 everywhere. I plan to pick up the one with the brushed stainless slide this weekend.

Definitely look at the Stoeger Cougars. I picked up a perfect condition used Cougar for $300 and it was a great gun that I wish I still had.

I am going to throw my 2c in and say i love my sr9, and i picked it up for 350.. good solid gun.. accurate, and very reliable..

I bought my chick a Ruger SR9C for carry/target. $385 plus tax. Went and shot it yesterday and I was amazed. She's not a great shot but put the first mag in the 10 ring. For the money, it's pretty hard to beat. Built a little tight, but awesome trigger and accuracy.

Smith & Wesson Sigma SW9VE (9mm) or SW40VE (40cal)

I have the 9mm.

Both are $300 with two 16 round magazines, stainless slide and mags.

Yes it is a glock copy but who says thats a bad thing, I don't but thats me.
I've run thousands of rounds through mine, factory fmj, hollowpoints, and many of my cast lead handloads.

Shoots straight, never a jam or failure to fire. Yes trigger is on the heavy side, but it is easy to acquire a feel for, or you can send it back to S&W and they will lighten it for free including free shipping.

Say what you will but I'll carry and recommend one all day.
