Agreed, say a mil spec humvee with a browning M2 machine gun mounted on top.

9x21 G19
Perhaps the rarest of all Glocks is the 9X21 G19. Partick Sweeney mentions these in his Gun Digest Book Of The Glock. There are indeed only 3 ever made, for U.S. Navy investigators stationed in Italy(where they don't allow 9 x 19). The pistols are marked with the new caliber on the frame and barrel and have serial numbers EN260US, EN261US and EN262US.

Many countries have laws prohibiting civilians from owning guns in the same caliber as issued by the military.

It's an idiotic law, but a common one nonetheless, that explains the popularity of certain calibers in some countries.

I thought it was you couldn't have anything the same or more powerful. Such if their military and police force use 9x19 then the highest the civilians could have would be 9x18. See you do learn something every day.

If it is an investment, you would do better with silver bullion.

My question is - why would you sell a gun that is presumably that rare on a website? Surely one auction house or another would find room for this in their catalog, and it would advertise and ensure the transaction.

Yep, Mexico for instance, and many countries south of the border are restricted to 9x18. Hence all the glock 25 and 28 sales.

It doesn't make any since to me, you can kill someone just as well with .380 as 9mm with appropriate accuracy, but neither do most gun/caliber bans.

Saw a .45 ACP chambered Savage 1907 sell for $23,000. I don't remember but it was an auction on gunbroker and thats what It went for.

At least glock is only ripping us off for $800+ that gets you a gen 4 17 that only has a silly little badge built into the handle. You also get a silver (plastic case) and one less magazine. I'm in the market for a gen4 17 and even I can't justify an extra $300+ and nothing cool to go along with it. $100 maybe...

I may not have $51,000.00, but I do have the magic beans...

The law has nothing to do with power of given cartridge but availability of ammo. Something like 9x21, 9x23 has to be purchased from firearm store with proper handgun permit and is more difficult to obtain "on the street" from a shady source (like theft from military base,..). The key to gun control is really about availability of ammunition and not actual firearms. An axe is far better then empty gun.

Maybe a couple of magic transferrable automatic ones for that price lol

Why not? Making them would be no different then building the standard 9x19 versions... just ream the chamber a hair, and change the roll stamp. No mechanical alterations needed.

You don't know what they paid for them either. I'm sure that Glock would make me a G19 with a white frame if I paid them enough.
