I just picked up the Talo LTD editoin SP101, it's laser engraved and really nice. I'd like some of the kydex/leather holsters but I'm not sure if I should be putting my engraved gun in something hard like kydex. I have 1 for my LCP but who really cares about that?

Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.

You'll get holster wear with the kydex I promise you that. I don't know if they offer it with the SP101 but I got a Mitch Rosen holster for my LCR from Ruger for $75 and it's perfect. By far the best holster I've ever owned. I have Simply Rugged, Crossbreed and several other less known brands.

Yes, but the holster proper is mostly Kydex; the leather is to protect the wearer, not the gun.

I would put an engraved gun in either a Safariland with suede lining (MY Safarilaminate holsters were kept clean and did not hold grit to wear the finish) or the Garrett which is Kydex lined with smooth leather.

My plain vanilla Colt 1991A1 drawn frequently from Kydex for IDPA has a lot of streaky finish wear, not the "character" wear of a leather rig.
