Every day carry, what manufacturer are you choosing?

I first carried a number of Gerbers then moved on to a Kershaw that my sister got me for my birthday.
Then, I used to carry a SAK every day but my girlfriend took a liking to it so I lost that.
Nowadays a little leatherman rides in the pocket more than anything else.

I just invested in a Cold Steel Spartan for trail use. We will see how it fairs. Ive never owned any of their products and the marketing is a bit overblown, but the knife itself at least looks capable.

I carry a Cold Steel XL voyager every day Don't leave home with out it. Have a little frost lock back Razor type in pocket for small cutting jobs Have carried this combination since around 1990. Been in all 48 states with my voyager including NY City. several times never a problem. With any LEO 's across this country.

It would have been easier to pick what I don't carry.
My usual EDC carry is a Benchmade Mini Griptilian, Cold Steel Mini AK47 (great for exercising- lightweight and you will not lose it), Kershaw Volt II, Kershaw OSO Sweet, Kershaw Skyline and CRKT M16. I've got a Buck Vanguard Select but the grip is a bit slick so I don't carry it much although it's razor sharp and carries very deep.

Still carrying a gerber, though it's my backup utility knife now that I have my spyderco delica.

Swiss Army (Vic or Wen is fine), Cold Steel are top notch stuff as well. I voted Spyderco of what you have there. Also Spyderco's Byrd line is great stuff with a tremendous price/performance ratio.

I've been carrying a S&W extreme ops for a while now. It get's used and abused at work and I don't feel bad about it, it holds up really well. I've had quite a few S&W knives over the years.

I carry a Kershaw Clash everywhere I go (except to school of course) and it has yet to fail me. I was surprised considering it's one of Kershaw's Chinese made "speedsafe" knifes. It came sharp enough to shave with and it helps tremendously when I try and open a new roll of coins at the register, although, some customers give me a bad look when the blade deploys and some others (and always the local LE) ask to see it and where I got it, how much it cost etc... So far it's the only knife I've needed but I plan on picking up an American made Kershaw like the "Skyline".

I tote a Gerber Applegate/Fairbairn mini folder. Looks like the big one, but with a 3" blade. Great little pocket knife, not as nice (sharp-wise) as the Cold Steel I lost, but I like the sharp point for opening things, scraping, cutting, etc. Great little pocket knife. They also have good customer service; a couple of screws worked loose and were lost and they sent me new ones instantly, free of charge.

A Little Update

On review, I thought it might be interesting to add a new "snapshot" of my current carry pieces.

When I say that I may have multiple manufacturers represented at any given time, today would be a good example of this:

Today's list is smaller. I had a run-in with my back this past week, and when I visit the chiropractor, It's not good to have a bunch of hardware on my belt, so the full-sized belt pouch is off, and the Leatherman is off (at least until tomorrow or Saturday).

Yesterday, instead of the Buck yellow-handled Stockman, I carried two old vintage '70s or '80s Buck folders: a 301 Stockman and a 303 Muskrat. These went with me to the Buck factory sale, as I wanted to ask some of the old timers about them. (They got a kick out of seeing the old designs.)

My carry list for next week will, predictably, include the new Buck Paradigm and Vantage Select, maybe even one of the EcoLite 110s or 112s, just to try them out. (Won't be carrying the 105. Don't have a suitable pocket.)

(My current collection is lopsided in favor of Buck knives. I wonder what it would look like if I lived in Portland instead.)

This week I have carried a Barlow, Brown Mule and a pre WW 2 Boy Scout knife.

S&W my border guard just fits my hand right it has a linerlock ( very important to me ) and i havent managed to break it when using it as a prybar and i havent lost it in 5yrs despite using daily at work.

Barlow, stockman, SAK, Leatherman. None of that NinjaNaziRamboCop stuff for me, thanks.

If I needed to carry a knife as a weapon, I'd carry my Himalayan Imports Tamang, Kerambit, or Bonecutter. Maybe even my USMC Kabar. I'm a fan of the traditional, time-tested designs.
Thinking about getting/making a Razel, since I can also use it to scrape gaskets.

And I shave with a 1930s Neillite 400, 1919 Gillette, Gem 1912, Schick E and G type Injectors, and an assortment of early 1900s straight razors. Plus, way too many vintage DE safety razors to list here.

I used to carry my great-grandfather's old Barlow. Forget the make. It's been in the display case for 30 years now.
If it's an old knife design that has proven it's worth over the last 50 years or more, I like it.

IMO you can never go wrong with a Barlow or a Sodbuster!

Right now my Chris Reeve Large 21 sebenza probably has the most pocket time usually(not today) I pair up another smaller knife with it such as a Case Peanut in Yellow derlin and CV or a Victorinox Recruit.

Since you don't have Buck, Case or Queen on the list, I refrained from voting. (S&W - REALLY? You've got to be kidding right?)

I'm happy carrying the Case (which I lost) or Gerber, with 2" and smaller blades.

My every day, though, is a Kershaw Scallion. Got it on sale, ridiculously sharp and easy to hone back to an edge, and I love the tap to open it in a snap. Means I can use it while holding a box, rope, or car parts in place with the other hand.

Currently only a CRKT M21-14sf

buttt I am starting to not like it as the adjustment screw is always moving, resulting the action being too loose or too tight..

So Ill be shopping for another one. Shame really cause I really like the ergonomics and balance.

@tarosean, I haven't personally used it for this, but I've heard a lot of people recommend blue loctite for securing loose pivot screws. Pretty sure nutnfancy mentions it in one or two of his videos on youtube, but I could be mistaken.
