I've had a Franchi 48AL for some time now, its a great shotgun. But I've always just shot bird loads in it, and I've wondered if I could shoot more. I downloaded a PDF owner's manual of it, and it says that there is a governer ring that can be assembled for either heavy loads, such as buckshot or slugs, or light loads.
It says to assemble it with the beveled side forward for heavy loads.
Now, am I to understand that in the picture below, the side that is currently facing upwards, is to be placed on the magazine tube facing towards the muzzle?
