Picked this up this morning, paid $200. It's never had a round through it, owner (my boss) won it years ago at an auction. From what I can tell it's a Taurus 689. The Taurus website provided the information that it was
Model 2-689069.

I don't know a lot about it, more of a semi guy. 6" barrel, stainless, 6 shot .357 is all I know

Let me know your thoughts?

Older tauurs should make for a real nice shooter and what a price. He will be asking for something down the road at that price. Nice revolver.

Wow that's a really nice boss you've got there! At that price, I hope they don't consider that part of your yearly bonus! Great deal.

It is a nice-looking gun. With Taurus revolvers, you will either get a good one or a bad one. I hope yours is a good one. (good trigger, good timing, accurate, reliable)

If it is a good one and you shoot it single action, it will outshoot your semis handily. Just wait and see and report back here with some target pix. Maybe this will have won you over to revolvers.

Thanks guys! My GF is a revolver freak. She was ecstatic when I brought it home.

Now, the boss told me he had Taurus revolver for sale, I asked him what one. He said a Model 85. Said it was a basic gun, nothing fancy. I offered him $200. I showed up to pick it up, gave him the cash, threw it in the car and didn't open it until I got home!

I am very excited to shoot it, hopefully in the next week or so. I will post some pic's of the target when I'm done!

Odds are good it's been used in a crime and he wants your prints on the gun when the cops show up.

It was worth every penny. I've shot several 1990 or so vintage guns like that. They seemed to be well made.

I'm with Bush Pilot, probably used in a crime and you are being set up. Quick, send it here and I'll give you your money back plus shipping and I won't tell a sole.
