I have been wanting a 7.62x39 upper for an AR for a while. Finally ordered YHM 16"

yhm upper receiver 7.62x39 upper assembly

16", Non-Chromed, Threaded, Fluted 7.62X39mm Barrel with T marked (Yhm 7.62x39) marking on the side of the upper, free float handguard, flash hider, yhm gas block, gas tube.

yhm 16 inch fluted threaded barrel
yhm t marker upper receiver 7.62x39 marking
free float carbine length tube
gas tube
7.62x39 complete bolt carrier
7.62x39 flash hider bird cage
4 rail gas block
Charging handle
this is a complete upper receiver including bolt carrier and charging handle.

I was told at AR15 Broker.com that the upper did not like cheap (wolf) ammo but loved Winchester?? There have always been some "reported" problems with the 7.62x39 uppers especially with getting a proper mag that will feed.

I like the Yugo brass ammo even if it is corrosive so any thoughts on non chromed line barrel other than clean after shooting?.......

Thoughts on the purchase and help with mag selection would be greatly appreciated.

Kinda looking for 30 or 20 round mags thanks.

I talked to a few manufactures today and one had received 110 orders for ARs in 5.56/223 in the last two days!! Things are popping for some manufactures. This upper will not be shipped until next week due to some big gun show in ?Florida? this weekend.

MGW makes 10rd and 5rd magazines that work, and you can still find 30rd C-Products magazines if you look around.

A.S.C. LLC is the current proprietor of what were the C Products magazines in 10 and 30 round capacities. They work for me.

The MWG plastic mags work for some people and not for others. I'm in the second group there.

For 20 round magazines I've had good luck with the out of production USA frankenmags:

They're findable on Gunbbroker and arfcom's EE from time to time.

You can also use 5-6 rounds of 7.62x39 in a standard 5.56 magazine, but don't load more than that or your magazine will never be the same again.

Thanks for the link I will have to call them tomorrow. What a pain for just some mags that work!

I have a couple of c-mags coming and found some more mags from Armalite....Do not know if they will work but they should...I hope?
