I didn't read the whole thread, but my 870 express had an issue with the piece that holds the shells in the tube getting stuck in the outward position: Rack action, no shell released from tube. When this would happen I would have to empty the magazine from the front and use a punch/mallet type setup to get the part moving again in it's notch in the reciever....

That is part of the reason I got my Mossberg, which worked great until very recently... see my other thread!

and that's the problem with this particular board - the Remington bias.

Actually, I don't view it as Remington bias as much as a firm belief in being even-handed and working to avoid fanboi hyperbole in any direction on any subject.

I find it interesting that someone who considers THR so biased still feels perfectly free to use the board's own resources to bash it.

As long as you wipe them down with a little rem oil or clp when they're not being used you shouldn't have to worry too much about rust.
