Leather-wrapped wheelie

A 2" S&W Model 10-5 shipped in 1969. Engraved by Michael Gouse of Montana and wearing ivory stocks. Gunbelt and holster by El Paso Saddlery. Gold and silver belt buckle added. Two speed loader pouches with HKS loaders and knife scabbard holds a Buck Model 110 converted to auto configuration.

If open carry were legal here this is what I would wear.

SP, that is one fine looking rig.
You need to do like me and get the BBQ rig thing going.
No sense in those Texans having all the fun.

Cajunbass,
Wow, haven't see one of those plastic cartridge carriers for years. I use to carry extra ammo for my Model 58 in one of those. Still got it and the shrunken gun belt too.

More please, this thread shouldn't die. I can stare at my own all day, but have no way to share. So keep putting up more and I'll share when I can. I am a simple wheelie whore like the rest of you.

Incidentally, I carry a K-frame. I emailed Crossbreed Holsters to see if they could make their very popular supertuck holster for a K-framer. They emailed back that there was no plans to make one. Is it really to the point where you can't even get a decent tuckable holster for a 4" K-frame?

Iggy, I haven't seen one in a long time either, but MTM still lists them on their website.

Great photos, folks! Keep them coming. I only wish I had a holster worth showing off.

WC145, nice gun, nice rig. That dark cherry/chocolate leather is gorgeous.

All you brethren are very lucky!! I'm kinda embarrassed by all fancy leather out there. The vast majority of my holsters (both shoulder and hip) are tan/brown, un-tooled, lined leather. My flap holster for my 1911A1 was made in 1943 and is brown leather with US embossing on the flap (inherited from my foster father). Maybe it's time for me to get a fancy leather rig for a couple of my "more seasoned" civvie wheel guns.....1951 Official Police and 1961 Detective Special....any recommendations, guys?

You know, NONE of my gunleather is 'fancy' in any way, but it's functional.

Colt Magnum Carry .357 , Galco Speed Scabbard, Triple K western belt--- the gun just snugs down inside that clamshell of leather. Very secure/sturdy.I bought the Galco as a CCW rig and you have to admit the gun dissapears in there. I wish speedloaders could be so well concealed.

Colt Official Police (1927) .32-20 6 inch, jade grips, vintage Bauer Bros. holster, Trailrider products cartridge slide, vintage leather belt hand made.

Ruger Vaquero .44 mag tucked away in a woods-worn Trailrider Products 1863 pattern holster and cartridge belt, Cold Steel Tanto bought in 1985 lurking under there.

Colt 1917 New Service Army in an IMA repro 'butt back' WW2 style holster, Bianchi gunbelt. Love this holster but it's very stiff. I have seen this style of half flap made now and aagain by other makers and really like it.

As you can see I prefer a belt holster that nearly completely covers the gun, the Bauer is an exception as I wanted a 'period' look. I tend to wear my 'belt guns' cross draw (Vaquero, 1917, Colt OP).

My leather is rather plain compared to some but very durable. For most of my revolvers for daily carry I use the Don Hume J.I.T.

Not a wheelgun but a classic piece of leather, from Rogers, a Plaxco World Speed Model for the 1911...

Here is the P7M8 in a Ken Null horsehide holster that I have been carrying for close to 30 years... (wish the belt still fit...lol)

I used that Plaxco world speed holster in the late 80s onward for a BHP (which fits perfectly by tighten the screw down) by Novaks. It is the nicest fast leather holster I've found and the rest of my stuff is Sparks.

will someone tell me a SIMPLE way to enter photos ? I use Picasa but will do it anyway I can understand.........thanks

The way I do it is to manually use the HTML image tags. I'm not sure how Picasa works but you'll need the URL for the pic you want to post. Once you have the URL for your pic, type the image tag
and post.

Right click on your photo in picasa, in the window that pops up click on "properties" at the bottom, in the next window that opens highlight and copy the URL address.
Now click on the "insert image" button in the menu at the top of this box and paste the URL address you copied where it tells you to. Click okay and it should insert your pic URL in your text with "
" at the end and when you post your reply the pic will be there.

Hope you can understand that, it's not as hard as it sounds.

There's some nice leather featured here. But I'm seeing a lot of single action and cowboy leather. I'd like to see more leather for MODERN double-action revolvers. Any volunteers?
