I'm getting a couple of Spydercos for Christmas and I noticed that they use Torx heads. I don't have any Torx wrenches so I figure I will need to buy some. (more tools, yummy) Can anyone tell me which sizes I should be looking for/buying? I want to get a multitool first.
Thanks,
RR

T-Tool

Kershaw designed something called the "T-Tool" which was (is?) available from County Comm (www.countycomm.com). It's specifically designed for knife maintenance.

Let me see if I can find it . . .

Yeah, here it is. Oops, sold out. Rats.

Happily, I got mine when they were still in stock.

You might check with Kershaw. Or . . . hey, look The Kershaw Store has them. Here's yer link.

Just go to the hardware store and buy a micro Torx set. Should run you anywhere from $7-15.

Well fancy that. I bought two of those a few months ago for my bicycle tool kit. I changed the bits and forgot about the torks bits. Still got them tho. And they fit on my ladybug salt. I won't know about the pacific salt till xmas cause it's already wrapped. Are the #6 and #8 bits enough for most knives? I think I'm still going to check at the local homecenter for a bike style multitool tho.
Thanks folks

I bought a set from Auto Zone for my Kershaw. I think the Kershaw took a T8 or T10, Spyderco is probably the same. Get a set with the smallest being T8 and you should be good.

I've bought them one at a time from the hardware store, just like a screwdriver instead of the set that looks like an allen wrench. Very happy with them.

I just checked and my ladybug takes a T6. I imagine that the pacific salt takes something larger. I think I can get a multytool with a 10 on up. The individual bits at my local homecenter are about $2 each. Does anyone have a knife that takes a bit larger than a T10?
