The title says it all. I'm looking to purchase one of these two guns as a fun, range piece.

I own a CZ 75 D PCR and absolutely love it! The Sig came highly recommended and shoots like a champ.

As far as I can tell, these two guns are very similar -- the CZ is $1000 less and 1/4" thinner.

What do you guys think? Please vote and leave your comments.

You said it all in the description: "The CZ is $1000 cheaper." Buy the Shadow and you could pick up a normal 226 with the spare change. Just my two cents, mind you.

Get the Target for range/fun shooting. The "bang" is well above the bucks it costs.

The X5 also has an excellent reputation as a shooter.

226

You said that this is a range gun, so the thinner shouldn't be much of a factor, and depending on fit, may even be a detractor. I have shot both, but admittedly have VASTLY more time behind the 226 (about 40K rounds) but still believe it to be as close to the perfect factory production pistol ever made. If money isn't an issue, buy both. If i is, then you should probably buy the CZ anyways. You can't go wrong either way, so good luck, and good shooting.

Just placed an order for the X5, a CZ will soon follow. :D I'll post some pics when it arrives. Thanks!

For me it would definitetly be a SIG X-Five and I will probably buy one this year. Tested a SIG X-Five in 9MM and it was like shooting a BB pistol!

BTW may have to look for a CZ SP01 Shadow Target if they only cost around $379!! SIG X-5 Allround is about $1379 new in most places and what a lovely German made pistol.

I had to go CZ though I'm loathe to support something which sounds as though it took it's name from some loser video game.

Both are excellent pistols. Pick the one with the ergonomics that you prefer.
