New (to me) SKS

I got myself an early birthday present (PM me for address if you want to send me something ), A Norinco SKS





Came with the ATI folding stock, scope mount and two 30 round magazines.

I may eventually get an actual milsurp stock and mag to bring it back to milsurp appearance, but for now I'm liking it.

Paid $275.

It came with some Chinese POS scope that was the size of a pistol scope, but with a .05" eye relief, not kidding, it was like using binoculars I had to get so close.

I'm not even sure I'll keep the scope, since I am concerned about brass hitting it, and since I haven't gotten out to fire it with this scope on, I can't yet be sure. Manually ejecting live rounds from the mag spits them out to the side and not into the scope bottom, so we'll see.

And yes, it's a duckbill mag like CJ described. 30 rounders are heavy, no joke, so if I stick with the detachable mag, I'll be trying the polymer Tapco 20 rounders. Honestly though, I may also go back to the fixed mag, especially if I can find one of the 20 round fixed Chinese mags.

If i get a decent amount for my tax returns (go nothing last year, so I'm not hopeful) I'd like to get a 75 round duckbill drum.
