Hi i just got a taurus tcp 380 from my ffl today. I took it apart to clean it and am now having problems with reassembly, with the slide locked back i cant put my retaining pin backin becase the barrel wont come forward enough (the tip of the barrel is atleast 1 inch away from the tip of the frame). Any ideas anyone have this issue before?

Know that you have it back together, go sell it, Taurus is selling junk know days. It's to bad as some of their guns are very innovative & look nice! Now if Q.C.would go up & C.S. department would quite lieing to customers it might be worth something. In the mean time I would get something else! Just one old shooters opinion! And yes I have owned some Taurus guns, and letting you know! Good luck, have fun, Be safe!

Yes, sell the gun you just purchased at a loss.

Use it, then choose if you like it or not. If it breaks (mine haven't yet) then get it fixed and sell it if you don't want it anymore. The amount you'll get either way is negligible as its a preowned gun that sells for a really low price (at least from my experience).

I had a TCP that was a fine shooting little pistol. I put over 500 rounds through it. I did have a problem with it in that the slide broke at the ejection port but really think that was a fluke. I haven't heard of anyone else having that happen. Taurus was helpful in resolving the problem.

Update i got ammo for it today but it pushes the bullet straight into the feed ramp maybe 1/8 inch forward then i got to push the bullet back and down into the magazine. I sent a email to budsgunshop.com where i got the gun from and will call taurus tomarrow, ill let you guys know how it works out.

I only got one to try hopefully its just that i like the little gun

Whatever it is Ruger is sure to correct the problem they stand behind their guns very well in my experience. It isn't an inherent fault of the gun because I know several besides myself who have LCPs and none of them have any problems with them.

Exavid, you are confusing the Ruger LCP with the Taurus TCP. Understandable, since they are both small polymer framed .380 pistols with only a one letter difference in their name.

I plead old age, jumped a track maybe. Let's try that again, I'm sure Taurus will do what's necessary to make the TCP work right or replace it. They did stand by the TCP I had that blew apart, they were willing to replace it with a 740 slim. Considering I bought the TCP used and they replaced it with a new 740 I don't have any complaint about their customer service.

My TCP has been 100%. I own a LCP, P3AT & TCP. Shooting Times magazine recently did a comparison between 380's from Kahr, S&W, Ruger, Kel-Tec & Taurus. The Kahr won the Top Scorer award and the TCP won the Best Value award. It got the highest mark for reliability and came in a quick 2nd to the Karh on ergonomics and the trigger. The slide locks back on the last round and the sights are better than the Ruger and Kel-Tec.

I talked to taurus today there sending me a new magazine through the mail after hearing what it was doing. It took 15 minutes to get a real person on the phone the lady on the phone seemed nice and polite.

Budsgunshop.com sent me a email stating they cant exchange the gun since it left the ffl but will assist in shipping the gun back to taurus if needed.
