Picked up my first expensive gun this morning, a Dan Wesson Guardian chambered in .45 ACP. Can't wait to get it to the range next week.

It's the only one in my collection without a wheel. Been drooling over it for more than a year when I first handled the 9mm at a LGS, finally saved the cash (and sold a few I wasn't using much) to reel this one in.

Here's hoping it'll prove to be worth the wait :)

Well, since it followed you home you might as well keep it!

I know they eat a lot brass/lead/and gunpowder...but they are loyal and protect the family

Let it Stay!

I have two of the older DW blued Pointmans in 9mm and 45 ACP and a current DW PM-9 in 9mm. Great guns and at one time an absolute bargain for the buck. Currently reasonable priced for the included features.

Sweet. I want one in a 9mm because I am am recoil intolerant. :D I have a V-Bob, which essentially is the same gun as your Guardian except it is all steel. I like it a lot.

Beautiful gun!

I just handled one today at my LGS today, and was thoroughly impressed with the fit and finish, this seems to almost be equivalent to some of the ~2000 dollar 1911's imo.

If you had checked your six more often, maybe it wouldn't have followed you home without you noticing it...now, though, I guess you'll have to keep the dratted thing. Enjoy!

Range report

Took the new toy to the range today, ran about 150 rounds down the pipe, zero failures of any sort.

I was expecting a remarkable amount of recoil considering weight and caliber but the gun was very civilized; easily managed muzzle flip, and quite soft recoil. Great balance. OK, I was real impressed.

Accuracy for me was very good considering this was my first time shooting this gun and having limited experience with semi-autos in general. At 10 yards over 95% of the holes stayed inside 6". I know that's nothing to write home about but all things considered, I was happy with the result. I'm certain the gun is more accurate than I am.

Finally there's "fit and feel" factor. Even in my usual world of wheel guns there are some that just plain don't suit me, this gun just feels like it was special made for me, the fit and feel is that good.

Put another way, if the FFL called and said he had a customer in front of him that would buy my gun right now for what I have into it, I'd tell him no thanks. Very pleased, job well done DW and CZ-USA!
