Anyone know where to find these in stock from an online retailer? I've found them on Gunbroker for right at MSRP and they are a bidding war. ImpactGuns has them on backorder and so does Buds.
Anyone seen any in stock for under MSRP?

I received a e-mail from Grabagun.com that they had them in stock last week, but notice there gone now. I ordered mine from Impact Guns. Four month wait but my turn finally arrived. Well worth the wait. Good luck.

I got one from a local gun store. I got lucky and the guy had one. I paid 730 for it, not the best price I've seen but still 70 dollars off MSRP. A place in Portland I talked to said they got 10 in and said they were selling them at 670. It seams a lot of places are gettin some in, so keep your eyes open. It's a sweet shooter. I'm happy with it even though I paid a bit more for it.

Gave up and ordered a Springfield. They were tough to find. Actually, 1911s were all tough to find.

I'm surprised people are still having such trouble getting these.....My favorite shop has had ample stock since the SR1911's release and still do, I saw at least three in the case a few nights ago. I believe they also ship ;)
...Hoffman's won Ruger's Dealer of the Year award, maybe that's why the have so much stock...

I'm gonna wait for the mandatory new Ruger recall, and get the improved version!

Just joking! :D

Well, maybe not.

I see them trickling in at local shops. A friend picked one up two weeks ago, $599 + tax.
Smokin' deal.

They actually exist??? :D

I put a deposit at my gun range for the SR 1911 before the end of July 2011.

I've been waiting,
waiting,
waiting,
waiting..........:banghead::cuss::fire:

They actually exist???
Yes.
Got mine Jan 19 ($699), at a small local gun store. A distributor called the manager and said they had one, I said, I'll take it.:)

Since then the store manager has asked me three times to bring the gun in so people could see and shoot one. About 9 people have shot it, including a lady, and most want one.

At the last gun show I saw a couple, $850. I hate scalpers.

Hang in there folks! After 7 months and 17 days I finally got mine. Very well worth the wait. I hear Ruger is now geared up for producing more than the 60 a week (from CEO Mike Fifer) they have been so maybe your wait will soon be over.

I asked Cheaper Than Dirt and Cabelas if they had any idea when they may get some. Both said they have no idea and both had a long waiting list.

My local dealer said they ceased production and we can't get them any more...

Yeah, because Ruger decided that they really don't like money afterall and figured there's no need to keep making a product that people are nearly frothing at the mouths to get their hands on . . . :D

Also, the 60 per week number was incorrect. That number was per day which has since been improved. The text of the letter that this # is taken from is as follows:

Code:
Dear Mr. (name deleted),

A 1911 of our high quality is a difficult firearm to build, and in spite of considerable capital spending on equipment,
we have not been able to hit our daily production goal of 90 guns per day on two extended shifts. Instead, we are
averaging somewhere between 50 and 60 guns per day. So far we have shipped more than 8,000 SR1911s.

In response to everyone's frustration (including our own employees, who want more SR1911s), I have committed
an additional $3.3 million to acquire more equipment to try to double production. Many of those pieces of equipment
are showing up now (I saw quite a few new pieces of equipment when I was in the Prescott factory last week), and
I am hopeful they will be tooled up and running with additional, fully-trained employees by the first of the year.

Best regards,
Mike Fifer

From the comments I'm reading, my guess is that we're starting to slowly hit that point where most people who really, REALLY want them are getting them, and demand will calm down to a more manageable level. I personally want one but am holding out until they're available from Buds, CheaperThanDirt, etc. I'm a cheapskate at heart so I'm not willing to pay any premium, but thankfully I'm a patient cheapskate :D.

My wife is pretty awesome. She came into a few bucks, not that much mind you, but she told me to go ahead and get any gun I wanted. I do not want to take advantage so a $600 or so gun is all I will get. A 1911 is next on my list, and unless someone can convince me otherwise, I'm waiting for a Ruger.

I stopped looking.

Then, of course, I did see one at a gun show this past weekend. It actually sat there for a few hours before a guy bought it for MSRP and never blinked. It's a nice looking gun, but I'm not spending $799+ tax. I would expect the street price on this gun at a brick and mortar store to be around $650.

I got on my dealers list back home in late April of last year. I got a call from a local dealer last Friday they got 4 in. I got mine Friday 2/17 for 629.99 plus tax. I probably would have gotten a better price from my dealer back home. I just couldn't wait any longer.

My S/N range is 670-141XX so there's over 14100 out
