Just a downer, I'm looking and more and more guns are distributed by Umarex. Walther p22, Colt 1911 .22, Colt M4 .22, HK MP5 .22, HK 416 in .22.

Not to offend anyone, but they seen cheap and gimmiky. What ever happened to a reputation?

Oh the Colt and HK are made by Walther, not even Colt or HK! :banghead:

Added: also found Regent 1911 in .45 distributed by.....Umarex!

I have a Thompson Center R55 and a SIG522 rifle. Next one may be a CZ452.
I think I need not worry about quality...

Odd Job, never heard of those rifiles before. All look sweet, and are not a bunch more mula vs. cheaper offerings.

I think they are cheap and gimmicky too and just a general overall waste of time and space but those you listed dont even come close to all the rimfires being produced right now.

There are countless different models. Way to many to list or even think about without having to go to the bathroom in the middle of. Maybe this conclusion was a little ill advised to be jumping to.

You are looking at the wrong guns. If you want a quasi-replica rimfires, most are indeed made by Umarex. Browning, Ruger, Smith and Wesson, etc. still make rimfires. Most are not replicas of some other gun.

Henry rifles are made by Henry in America with all American parts.

I read the title and the first thing that came to mind was,

"all restaurants are Taco Bell" from Demolition Man
:D

Some are made by Umarex, but not the ones I am interested in or would buy. I never cared for the P22 even though I almost bought one a couple times, but I bought a Ruger SR22 pistol.

I have 3 rimfire handguns.

2 are made by Ruger (Single Six & Mark III)

1 is made by Walther for Colt imported by Umarex (Colt 1911 .22lr)

All 3 are quality firearms

These seem to have a penchant for catastrophic cracking of slides.
Not doubting you, but I have not heard of the Colts having slide cracking issues. Do you have any links to provide?

I frequent many message boards and did a google search for "colt 1911 22 slide cracking" ,"umarex colt 1911 slide cracking"& umarex colt 1911 22 slide failure" and saw ZERO stories on it on the first couple of pages. There were a couple of results for the GSG but not the COLT.

Again, not doubting you but if you have anything I can read that would be great. I am interested to see if this is a problem. If not, I hope your post doesn't discourage someone from getting this gun. It has been a fine weapon for me.

Sorry, but mine's made by Berreta, a Neos. And my 22 LR rifle is a Ruger 10/22.

Are not the Colt, GSG, et. al., all made by Umarex?

Simple version...

Umarex = originally a BB/pellet gun & airsoft company.
Umarex uses Walther to modify their airsoft designs to shoot .22LR. (Walther made the P22 before Umarex acquired them)
Colt, H&K and S&W licensed Umarex to make them .22LR versions of their firearms (Colt 1911/M16/M4, H&K HK416/MP5, S&W M&P22).

GSG = originally an airsoft company.
GSG modified their airsoft designs to shoot .22LR.
SIG contracts GSG to make them .22LR handguns (SIG 1911-22 & Mosquito).

ISSC = created by former Walther & airsoft employees.
Designed .22LR firearms using what they learned from making the P22 and airsoft.

HK MP5 .22
While I'm not impressed with the Colt .22, the latest MP5 .22s feels a lot more solid than my GSG5...

Don't get me wrong, the new ones don't feel as solid as the real deal, but much better than the GSG5.
