My birthday is coming up soon, and I was thinking that I really would like a more powerful flashlight for EDC (I have a Photon II and a $6 Dorcy 1 AAA).

I took a look at flashlightreviews.com, and I really like the look of the M6 LED. It seems to have decent throw, provides a good amount of light, has an unreal battery life, and has an improved switch over the incandecent M6.

Does anybody have one of these? Comments, suggestions?

Thanks

I have a M6 LED. Its truly a fabulous light.

Bright, pure white beam, exceptional beam quality, very good quality (fit + finish), small (easy to EDC in a holster), good ergonomics, etc. Very good throw for its size, plus excellent sidespill. Beam quality is unbelievable....the Luxeon output is pure white and has an almost perfect beam (i.e. no holes, rings or blotches).

IMO, every serious flashlight collector needs at least one Pelican M6 LED. Its one of the best flashlights in its price range, IMO.

Thanks for the confirmation Shane. It looked really good on paper, and I just wanted to get a first-hand report in case looks are deceiving, or there is something better out there. Thanks, I think that I'm gonna get it.

^ Glad to be of help. BTW, the M6 LED is shorter than a 2AA Minimag light, to put size into persective. Its a little wider than a Minimag though. Fits on the belt holster very nicely, and is easy to EDC.

Despite the size, the brightness and beam are magnificant. This is one of the few lights I've owned that has good throw AND sidespill. Throw is good to about 75 feet (25 yards). Sidespill is good to light up a pitch black room, or to climb up the stairs. To me, having both good sidespill and throw in a light this size, at this cost (low cost for the performance) is a really good thing. I plan to get more M6 LEDs soon (I always like having multiple specimins of a model--like backups).

The one negative is the lack of regulation. However, for the price (mine was $55 before shipping) one shouldn't expect a regulated light, I guess.

Is there an on line vendor that anyone can recommend? This looks like it will just fit the bill for a new travel flashlite.

TIA

Here is one option:

Advantages of shopping at cases4less: low price, quick delivery.

Disadvantages of shopping at cases4less: High shipping cost, sales tax.

They have a good initial price, but by the time shipping costs + tax is calculated you might be better off with another site?
