Here's my favorite Blackhawk. .357, 4 5/8 inch. Gave it the high polish myself, Belt Mountain pin, trigger over travel stop, stainless lanyard ring I made and installed, and topped of with Eagle buffalo horn grips. Made the holster a few days ago to fit inside the back brace I have to wear after surgery (open carry where I am is OK). I love just holding it. Don.

Three Screw 357

Previous owner sent it back to Ruger and had the transfer bar installed. Ruger must have refinished it for free.

I just picked up my 357/9mm Convertible today.
Been out shootin' it in the yard.
I couldn't be more pleased.
The 6.50" barrel is PERFECT for me.
I'm going to get a second one just exactly like it.

Next step.....some cool new grips.....

All the writing is on the underside of my barrel too.
I really like that.
No writing on either barrel side at all.

I know it's not for everyone's tastes, but I personally love the polychoke vent-rib look on a Blackhawk, I think it balances out the ups and downs of the top profile of the gun. Anyone have an opinion on preference with or without?

I think it's just an opinion either way and doesn't really matter.
What "you" like on "your" gun that makes you happy is what really counts at the end of the day.

Really, I think it just depends on what look you are going for?
The vent-rib makes the gun look much more modern to me.
More like a double-action really.
That's not a bad thing.
"Me" on the other hand, I wanted an older style look.
Yet...I prefer adjustable sights too, so that's the only reason I didn't get a Vaquero instead, and just went with a standard Blackhawk.
Everybody is different.
But they are "ALL" great guns just the same.
:D

How do those grips install? (the top pic)
I was looking at something similar to those.
Is there a hidden nut inside one of the grip panels?
And if so, how strong and secure is the nut compared to grips where the bolt goes all the way through and can be seen on both sides?

here are a few more for ya

How about a OMBH with elk grips and a scoped SBH sorry about the Colt but she sliped in the pic some how
