What short barrelled semi-auto is most reliable with birdshot/RR loads?

Looking for a short barrelled (18"-21") semi auto shotgun for gun games AND defensive use. I need a gun that is reliable with reduced recoil buckshot, and standard birdshot right out of the box.

I had a reliable Beretta 1200FP but it kicked like a mule so I let it go.

One option is the one i own, a rem 11-87Police.
after about 250 rounds of break-in, it will shoot the 3.0 dram 1 1/8 birdshot without a problem. for Home defense, i feed it the 3.25 dram, 1 1/8 ounce loads in #4birdshot. (just for a little more horsepower)

I have an 1100 Special Field that works fine with everything that I have put in it.

Ditto on the 1100 Special Field. My 20 gauge has never malf'ed. (knock on wood)
