Hunter. Been poppin' little woodland creatures since I was 6, and the only reason I punch paper with rifles is to make me and my rifles more effcient afield.

Handguns are a different story, though.

I used to hunt, alot. I choose to just target shoot now. I might still take a trip to Alaska to visit family, and would not be hard pressed to go on a moose outting, but that is it. I always get a smile on my face and forget the days problems while punching a target.

I am thinking of becoming a hunter ever since my friend gave me a back-strap and I cooked it on the BBQ!

Former small game hunter from Illinois. The 3 day deer seasons did not excite me much. 6 days total hunting per year then.
I fla I just can't get into it. Bugs ,snakes and wading through the swamp don't do it for me.
I do keep most of my rifles practical and usefull for hunting. but they are regulated to paper punching for the most part.

Used to hunt when I lived in Washington but got it out of my system the first time I had to drag out a kill that weighed more than I did. :uhoh:

Now I kill paper and clays and buy my meat at the supermarket! :D

Paper Puncher

Around here, hunting land costs so much to use it's just not worth it for me.

Neither, I mostly shoot steel plates and other "reactive" recreational targets like water filled plastic bottles, etc.

Why no option for both? I do both but I target shoot more so I voted paper puncher. Seriously, Hunting Season is limited here in Minnesota so practicing the rest of the year makes sense.

I selected Paper Puncher, but that's only temporary. This coming deer season I'm finally going to take advantage of hunting opportunities. It's been too long coming.

Definitely a hunter here!
I grew up in the fields first with a red Ryder while my grandad and his buddies were hunting. Then graduated to a single shot 20 gauge and have considered myself a hunter ever since.
I remember after I got my first dove my uncle said "its in your blood now." I still remember those words all too often. Hunting is a family tradition for us.

Little did I know that he was just honing my skills for later in life.
Anytime I shoot hunting is in the back of my mind, it's preparation for the field!

Started hunting way back in my youth age 7 or 8 back in 1949/1950.

Now thanks to my years of smoking "which is my own fault" I can no longer walk 100 yards without gasping for air. Can not even post a target at 100 yds without stopping and resting.

Smokers, take note, it will catch up with you, its really not worth it.

Hunting is totally out of the question, but I am Blessed with years of good memories.

I am both. I always thought being good at one would help me be good at the other. Tin cans, chipmunks, small birds and paper targets were my favorite. Growing up my Dad had a liberal wife/stepmom who did not understand the allure of hunting. So that meant no hunting for my brother and me. Now I am older its not so much the case.

I did not get to start my real hunting in Iraq. When I came back state side animals; whitetail, tx boar, bobcats and various varmints were on my short list. Now I am wanting to hunt Rocky Mountain Elk, Mule Deer and Cougar. As a Disabled Hunter, I get to modify my hunting style and though it may seem to unsporting from a vehicle Legally, its as sporting as I get ala Second Hand Lions.

Shooting paper is fun, hunting animals is exhilaration and hunting men is a whole different plain. While I may never get to hunt men again hunting animals is just fine with me.

All of my rifles are hunting rifle, or have been used for hunting lol.
Im not much of a PAPER puncher, i sight on paper then shoot other stuff that reacts more interestingly.

Hunter for me. Something about small mammal hunting gets me going. Trying out deer this year for the first time. Though i like to punch paper and miss the hell out of some clays time to time. :neener:

Started as a plinker at 6 but by 13 it was a an old jeep and shotgun gone to the woods. Then by 16 it was all hunting and stayed that way for 37 years. There was allways some amount of range time but with hunting at the for front of the reason to shoot. Over the last couple years I find I really enjoy takeing a good .22lr and setting at a bench and shooting small groups too.

Call me crazy but I think every good hunter should be a master paper puncher, if you cannot place you shot exactly on paper under no pressure, how are you going to do it when that big 12 pointer walks out into the filed and buck fever kicks in? And don't lie, we all get the fever myself included.

I punch holes in paper 50 weeks out of the year but when deer firearms season opens, I'm generally in the field from sun-up to sun-down for the better part of 16 days. Then I'm in the field for the couple weeks after Christmas when antler-less only season is on.

Alas, paper puncher - due to a bankrupt and regressive government. Its even illegal to display feathers and fur in a butcher's. Consider yourself lucky to be able to hunt. Here hunting is technically legal, but the bureaucratic requirements make it a toilsome and extremely expensive crucible. Eff it, lets punch paper.

At least I can still eat rabbit! ;-)
