They have mangers that some timer are a-- hole. They can't watch them all the time! You should had call the mane office and had every one tell them what happen there! It was not Dennys fault.

Denny's "Greatness" TV commercial

http://youtu.be/T7wYm0cYEOI

"Kids, do you know what it is that makes this county great?"
"The Constitution that our forefathers wrote"
...
"It's our right to bear arms"
I know where I'm eating breakfast tomorrow! Looks like 'Grand Slam' time indeed.

Seriously though, IMO we should patronize businesses such as this and just as important, spread the word!

Thanks for the post.

-Cheers

I suspect it was more about the humorous juxtaposition of having an old woman saying it rather than any political statement, just like having the little kid say, "Our unified belief in the American dream?" or the burly, bearded white guy mention diversity.

I wouldn't read too much into it.

Jorg,

Your point is indeed fodder for legitimate debate but I have decided to give them the benefit of the doubt (if it exists at all) here. IMO, they don't even mention the 2nd Amend. if they are , in fact, in opposition to or seek to mock gun-rights.

-Cheers

They may be indeed testing the waters so to speak with this commercial. I usually do not eat at the greasy food places for the sake of staying healthier but may have to add a little profit to the bottom line for them in the future. Also will add the thought to their sujestion box that "healthier" offerings be added for our consumption.:) Anyway good on them for even bringing up this discussion.

I haven't seen this one running on tv yet. It will be interesting if they don't edit out the 2a part. Anyone seen the full ad on tv? Which show / channel was hosting it? My guess will be History or Discovery.

I saw a shortened/edited version today on TV. It only included the comments from his children. I can't imagine they edited it for our demographic (Tennnessee). Maybe they just edited it for time.

If it didn't taste so bad I'd go and have breakfast just because of that commercial....but its nasty around here so it will have to wait till I get to GA where its actually good. =)

Just to be clear....
Dennys corp policy forbids guns in their resturants except for LEOs. htp://www.WAFB.com/GLOBAL/story.asp?S=13201632
They are not gun friendly. Spend your money somewhere else.

Right, and Denny's has a long anti-gun history. They are not Pro 2A. The perceived pro 2A comment by the old lady was a joke, not a positive statement by the company about our rights.

I was at Denny's last month (the food wasn't too bad honestly) and I saw a line order cook that literally looked like the John Belushi SNL character in the 70's that used to yell out , "Cheeseburger, Cheeseburger" (for those of you that are old enough to remember).

Seriously though, I am going to try and get to the botom of their 2nd Amend. support (or lack thereof) as the thread honestly has confused me at this point .

I am not a fan of Denny's. Hell, the closest one to me is a good 45 minutes away, anyways.

I live in the one State in this Union where you can find a real diner, damn near anywhere you go: New Jersey. I love diner food. REAL diner food! Mmmmm!

I don't care how pro-2A Denny's marketing campaign is.

Their food still sucks.

Are you sure? All the strippers and drunks can be found there after the bars all close and they seem to love the food. I am sure they are not there simply because of a lack of places open at that hour. ;)

Being pro-gun (if it was true) still doesn't really mean a thing if the product is yucky.

Well, depending on how you look at it, at least it shows there are enough people who care about the 2ndA to make mention of it.
