Need advice for compact 9mm

I'm needing a super small and light weight compact 9mm. My primary concern is buying a compact that an ankle holser exists for. I absolutely have to have a good combination and can't afford or risk having the firearm falling out of the holster, ever! Any ideas or thoughts are much appreciated.

Magazine capacity isn't an issue. In that, I mean, if it will hold at least 6 rounds it will suffice. And I'm not limiting this to just an autoloader, I would be open to a compact 38 special, if that would be a better or easier to find item considering the holster needs I have. But I will not consider stepping down to a .380 in regard to an auto loader, or going lighter than 38 spcl with a revolver.

Even if there aren't ankle holsters for those guns, you can get a custom holster made for them.

I wouldn't pick the holster and then pick a gun to fit it.

I'd get the right gun then search for a holster - or have one made.

There have to be at least a dozen that will work. Even the Sub-Compact Glocks and XDs are frequently carried on the ankle by some. That would annoy the crap out of me, but it's done. Here's a fairly comprehensive list of options... Smallest generally listed first.

G26?? for ankle carry?? REALLY dude? You can't even pocket carry that behemoth easily

Rohrbaugh - hands down the smallest and best 9mm micro gun made - you are betting your life on the gun, get the best
 
You're probably right about the G26 but I've never ankle or pocket carried anything. I like my G26 for CC IWB. I do know that some of the guns mentioned in an earlier post have issues which a G26 is very unlikely to have.
 
Your title says "compact", but you are clearly looking for a subcompact.

If you are looking for a quality 9mm subcompact, in my experience there is one that stands head and shoulders above the rest:

Kahr PM9 or CM9.

Disclaimer: I have not owned a Rohrbaugh or a Boberg. Yet. :)
 
Exactly, I am 6-3 ans the G26 is TOO heavy for pocket carry - I cannot imagine having almost two pounds strapped to my ankle

In reality - the OP needs to think about 32 or 380 guns that weight about 8-10 oz at most
 
oneounceload, don't forget that for many years prior to reliable micro pistols entering the market, carrying small revolvers on the ankle was common. Even the smallest of revolvers are about as bulky and heavy as a Glock 26. I would agree with you, though, in that there really isn't a good reason to try to live with such a bulky ankle rig anymore.
 
Smith 642 for ankle carry. Small, light-weight and totally reliable. I had a 642 and a 442 and they made for great deep-concealment guns. Eventually I decided that I didn't want to carry two guns so I went with an SR9c that I carry OWB with the 17 round mag as a backup. If 27 rounds isn't enough I'm in deep, deep trouble!
 
Another vote for the PM9 (I guess the CM9 is pretty similar). At one point in time I compared the respective specs of the PM9 and the G26. The PM9 is significantly smaller and lighter than the G26. The G26 is nice...but not in an ankle holster.

The Rohrbough is way too pricey. (Hey, I'm cheap.)
 
My Kahr CM9 has been perfect. Have tried LCP, P3AT, G26, PPS, snubbies, P238, PF9, P11....CM9 is the ONE. At least for ME:)
 
I've carried on a rotating bases now for 2 years a PT 111 pro. I've put over 4000 rounds through it to date with only replacing the recoil spring assembly which was free to get replaced as it broke early on. Wasn't straight from day one but lasted over 1500 rounds. Bought a second one at the time for $12 so I didn't have to send the gun in taking 5 business days. Been very dependable and hasn't not has a single problem with any ammo going bang due to the gun. Only fail to fire was one Remington factory round with the primer in backwards.
 
I've only ever carried one gun in an ankle holster, and that was a snubnosed revolver. It was annoying to carry and hard to hide completely. Small is better... small and lightweight is best. No bigger or heavier than a Kahr PM9, IMHO.
 
+1 for the PF9. I carry mine IWB and hardly know its there. 15oz with empty mag on my scale (I don't believe mfr claims).
