That's really nifty. I might get one of those; we've had a serious fly/mosquito/moth problem in the house lately. 3-5 feet is far enough away that the bugs won't get spooked and take off, either. Even if they do, it's just more wingshooting practice...

Sweet! I just may order one!

I used to use a rubber band when I was a kid...break the loop on the rubber band, then slowly approach to about 5 inches or so and splatter the fly everywhere.

Later, I used to be able to get those surgical rubber straps from a local hospital (the ones they tie around your arm while taking blood samples) and they made awesome anti-fly weapons!

But this looks really cool, if the range is as they advertise.

I can't think of too many things I'd rather not do then shoot my house and everything in it with table salt.

That would go real far on a gun & knife collection, any electronics, or shop tools, or anything else that would rust or corrode!

It's easier on the local geography than rat shot in my .38spl, I'll tell you that from experience. Besides that, it doesn't take a lot of sense to know that salt causes rust and to not shoot it at guns, tools or electronics.

(Edit to add: Florida has some of the largest bugs I've ever seen in my life - Some of them REQUIRE rat-shot or better for a clean kill)

Nifty...but my biggest bug problem around here wasps, hornets, yellow jackets or whatever you wanna call them nasty mean-tempered stingy things. Not sure I would want to blast a nest from 24" away...............

What's the best load and choke for horse-flys? Ground black pepper? Sea salt? Granulated sugar? Coffee grounds?

When I was about 8 my dad made me a side by side rubber band with clothes pins at the rear for a release mechanism. It was positively deadly on flies within 10 feet or so.

The "BugASalt," a gun that fires ordinary table salt and is designed to take out flies from a short distance. It fires just a pinch of salt per shot, and leaves flies immobile/dead but intact for easy cleanup. Awesome looking invention.

I have shot A LOT of carpenter bees with 22 shot shells. They are pricey. I wonder if this will have enough umpf for them?

When I was a kid I would pick up a pinch of sand and shoot bugs with my sling shot. It was pretty effective!
