Looking for a more discreet way to carry long guns from the car and back in order to minimize the attention from potential burglars.

If you have found a creative way to carry rifles and shotguns either assembled or broken down, it would be really nice to see your ideas :)

musical instrument cases in many sizes

my dad's condo had no specific rules about firearms but the rifles i kept there went to the car in his spare golf club bag. stand up, wheels and the huge golf umbrella came in handy in FL weather. side pouches for accessories; ears and spotting scope.

bowling ball & shoe bags for hand guns and ammo.

sears craftsman tool bags in large & small work for darn near everything. and put some tools on the outside for the 'look'

from years ago i got many VOX 3 bottle vodka metal cases. cut some foam and made 2, 3, or 4 gun cases

heavy canvass beach bag; some gun rugs, assessors and cover it all with a towel ( for wiping your brow when the sun gets strong.)

going with a friend? a metal cooler with end handles can hold a lot more besides cold beverages and lunch.

Takedown or folding rifles make this much easier

Failing that, a square hard-sided case could be a gun or a musical insturment
The shoulder bags that collapsing camp chairs go in will hold a carbine or two nicely, if you wrap the carbine in a towel and slip it into the long skinny tube.

Funny, I was down in Panama (the country) checking into a hotel with a soft guitar case. The police officer in front of the hotel were eyeing me from as soon as I stepped off the shuttle. I figured he was suspicious of an American carrying anything around that might fit a gun. It made me laugh, because all I had in the case was my cheapo Fender acoustic guitar for idle hours.

I have a $35 backpack i got at costco. My PTR fits in it - barely - if i pull the buttstock and FCG off of it and tuck them alongside. I use it for transporting my rifle on my motorcycle.

M4 fits in a 24"-26" tool box when broken down with a layer of foam in between upper and lower. My brother had one, Contico brand 26" I think, and I thought it was the greatest thing in the world, (which shows what level of intelligence I have). Even has a pull out tray for mags and tools, etc. Best part is it was only $20, and $5 for the egg crate foam from a craft store.

My father dug a hard case golf club bag out of the trash on his street and gave it to me. It will hold at least 4 soft cases rifles and just looks like...well a golf bag carrier.

except with a lot of mud

If I were a (oxygen wasting, piece of garbage, cretin who needed to be exterminated) burglar, I'd be just as interested in a Les Paul Gibson as I would a model 12 Winchester shotgun.

HAHAHA thats what I do. Now.

I used to live in a place where it didn't matter. I'd wave to the neighbors while loading up for fall turkey.
