1911 IWB Holster

I've got a Theis IWB with which I'm very happy. Horsehide and kydex, on the lower-cost end.

I bought a VM2 at Frank's suggestion some time back. Great choice. Worth the wait.

I have an STI Guardian.

I've used an inexpensive Desantis Intruder IWB with both my pt1911 and my Kimber Ultra Carry and I like it. It is molded kydex with leather backer and is pretty comfortable for me (5' 11" 215 lbs).

I use an extremely comfortable, beautifully form fitted IWB holster from Horseshoe Leather Products for my Colt 1911 Combat Commander (9mm). Andy is a gentleman to correspond with, and his webiste is tops. He is a well kept secret on the other side of the pond.

I have an IWB mag pouch similar to that which I got from Milt Sparks, but I quickly found that the sweat-shield flap was a huge nuisance. I could never draw a mag without grabbing that flap as well and yanking up on my belt. I ended up cutting it off.

Ditto on High Noon - I carry a Down Under with straps every day. It is comfortable and rugged, and coupled with a High Noon Rock Steady belt, it makes even a big gun like my CZ SP-01 Phantom hide easily under a big t-shirt, even in AZ summer weather.

My favorites are the Milt Sparks ssII and the UGB strieker,The Sparks for my Kimber UCII and the Strieker for my fs Springfield. Both are about 90.00
and worthy of a look.

These work well.

Get the G-Code with the optional IWB accessory. As it breathes it's proven to be very, very comfortable when K rides her Spyder as well as my ongoing pursuit for carry diversity that permits a safe and confident re-holster. We have them in both left and right hand models for our 1911 platforms.

Check out some of the holsters ive made in the buy/sell/trade accessories section. More comfortable than a crossbreed and half the price.

I have become a big fan of my Comp-Tac minotaur - I feel that the kydex portion is more sturdy than others I have looked at the slide option is great as I have carried 3,4, and my 5" 1911's in it

I have a Ruger P95 that was very hard to find a comfortable IWB holster. A friend has a box full off holsters he didn't like. I found 2 pancake type holsters that were comfortable but neither holster protected me from the hammer. I finally bought a Blackhawk ambidextrous Sportster with a magazine pouch. It's an all fabric holster - The retention strap covers the hammer on the Ruger P95. I fell asleep on the couch wearing it last night.

The serpa holsters were OK for on the hip but the IWB models were far to bulky. If you decide on a serpa make sure you try it on or can bring it back.

I have found that the best way to carry a heavy pistol IWB (or OWB for that matter) is to spread the weight out across the belt.

I designed my model 9-20 to use as little leather as possible, still allow unrestricted access to the pistol and spread the weight. I have been carrying one for a number of years and like the design and it's been well recieved by my customers.

I suggest you check out the classic Summer Special from Milt Sparks. The rough side out leather makes the gun feel about 10 onces lighter AND you get a full firing grip. No panty liner on the classic Summer Special! Add a professional quality gun belt and a mag carrier nd you are ready for some comfortable carry--winter or summer.

Comfort is relative. There is a lot to your mindset, and being willing to accept the weight and bulk. You can take a guy who turned 21 precisely 60 days ago, and just got his permit in the mail, shivering with excitement that he is FINALLY allowed to carry, and hang a Desert Eagle under his left arm, and he will SWEAR that he can't feel it. On the other hand, if you take a petite anti female, (oh yeah, I'm playing the gender stereotype card,) and have her try to conceal a Keltec....anything, in her pocket, in her purse, in the waistband, wherever, she will say it feels like an iron tumor. We have the luxury of having a lot of guns and sizes to choose from. Ask yourselves, if technology only permitted full-size, all-steel guns, would you not carry? Or would you find a way to live with it?

I use a Crossbreed Supertuck and a Galco paddle magazine/flashlight holder on the opposite side, 100+ degree summers. Shorts and a t-shirt, no big deal. I can carry anything I want to, this is what I choose, because this is what I shoot best.

I am a huge fan of anything from Sideguard Holsters. I am a bit small to carry my 1911's IWB so I always carry mine in an OWB configuration Safariland is my favorite.

It does resemble the Raven Phantom, somewhat. There are lots of similar holsters to the Raven these days and that is really a good thing for the consumer to have more options.

In my opinion, the real advantage to the Raven Concealment Phantom holsters is their adjustability. With the Raven Phantom, you can not only wear the holster IWB or OWB, but you can also adjust the ride height and cant. The adjustability maybe not a big deal for you, and in that case the lower price certainly would be an advantage.

white hat holsters, about $65 for the basic. you can customize it including putting your own picture on the holster and the kydex is interchangable unlike many other hybrids. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
