I have been looking at these Jeans trying to decide if they are worth purchasing. These jeans are designed to conceal all sizes of handguns with a built in pocket. They cost about $75 on the Toters Website
the designer of these jeans name is Blackie Collins a renowned knife designer. From what I hear Blackie makes a quality knives I am sure his jeans are equally as tough. It seems like a interesting way to conceal a firearm. I think this pocket carry method would be easier to access then most IWB holsters today.

Any first hand experience anyone has with these jeans would be greatly appreciated.

Might work. I don't really like the knife pocket though. I also have to wonder whether the pistol muzzle is going to get in the way when you try to sit down.

I am worried about the muzzle digging into my leg or other misc parts. I wish I could find somebody that is selling these locally so I could try them on. I hate buying clothes with out trying them on.

I have no personal experience with that product, but I have an opinion anyway :uhoh:

IMO, it is important to carry the same firearm in the same place and in the same way ALL the time. As with many other aspects of handgun shooting, muscle memory plays a big role. For example, we dry practice so that our hand drops onto the gun without conscious thought and without looking for it. Our presentation is practiced endlessly so that it is efficent. Our stance and index becomes second nature so that even if we can't see the sights we know the gun is lined up on the target....................................... I even carry my car keys in the same pocket all the time because I KNOW where they are every single time.
Odds are, you won't be wearing a pair of those jeans all the time. You might occasionally wear dress pants, shorts or whatever. By using a good holster you can use the same method of carry no matter what you choose to wear. At any time, no matter what you wear, your gun will be in the same place and in the same holster.

Me thinks those pants cost to much!!!:D

I would worry about the pistol digging into me as well..

Me when I am looking for new pants I just take them in to the dressing room and see if the pockets fit my holsters good..

If they are a deal I can't passs up I can always get the local "sewing lady" to cut the pockets out and put bigger ones in for me...I think she charges about 6 bucks for a pocket plus material...at $15.00 a pair plus alterations I can buy several for the $75.00 buck price tag on those

just my .02 cents

The economics don't work for me on this one. A good IWB holster and good gun belt let ANY pants carry as well as these $75 pants. So I'll stick with cheap pants and a good holster. More fashion options that way. ;)

They seem like a strange idea to me. They don't really conceal anything. They just provide a big pocket, you still provide the cover garmet. I think most people would be better served with an IWB that could be used with ANY pants.

Besides, they look kinda goofy. :)

I guess it is just one more option for a carry permit holder. I like the idea, but balk at the cost.

i got a better idea for these jeans,

How about they sew a IWB type pocket at the 3:30-4:00 position that most of us like to carry anyway. That was regardless of holster, the gun will still be in the same place.

Thought i probably wouldn't buy the jeans anyway, like someone else said, i'll go with a cheap pair of pants and a quality belt+holster anyday.

Wilderness belt + Galco Summer Carry for me :)

I have a few pairs of "Toters"...

They work pretty well for some pistols, not so well for some others. They aren't ugly, they actually look pretty nice. I asked Blackie about the price and (besides the extra sewing involved), he *refuses to buy any denim made anywhere but in the USA. It makes the denim he builds his jeans from MUCH more expensive. He also told me that he had decided to shut down producton of "Toters" because *nearly all denim is made in other countries, and then imported. He finally found ONE company in Mississippi that could supply him with enough denim to keep producing his jeans.
Some of the pockets are lined with cordura. I like that feature. Back pocket carry is pretty easy. The back pocket Hedley's I carry still work well and STAY in my back pocket, but drawing is a little easier. Blackie also gave some thought to the belt loops. There are more loops and they're spaced so you can get one between the slots in a hip holster.
I think it's nice to have a few pairs of "Toters" for *some occasions.<shrug> For me, it's just another way to carry. Another option.

Golgo...

I have no idea what "parachute pants" are. The Collins "Toters" are just...jeans. I tried to explain the higher cost and that these jeans wouldn't be good for ALL pistols.
Hey, let me ask you a question. Have you ever left an informative or friendly post? Or even just a nice post? I think you just sit back and wait for a post where you figure you can [try to] showcase your wit or attempt to "razz" someone else who leaves an honest post or asks an honest question. Tell you what. You just keep your answers (?) to yourself when it comes to a post/reply I've left and, believe me, it'll be easy for me not to get involved in things you say. Do me (and others) a favor please. Don't reply to this--or ANY other post or reply I place on the board. Can you do that? Deep breath now. Try your best.

Parachute pants were baggy pants made from parachute material. They were briefly popular in the 80's. I never addressed whether Toters were good for carrying a gun or not. I voiced my opinion on the way they look. If I damaged your self-esteem, then all I can say is that I apologize for hurting your feelings by not liking your pants. I honestly didn't know you were so fragile and will make every effort to take your delicacy into account in all future postings. It was thoughtless of me to make a flippant comment on something so clearly important to you, and I sincerely promise never to comment unfavorably on pants in which you have an emotional investment again. Mea culpa. Mea culpa maxima.

Have no fear Golgo...

My "self-esteem" is intact. I appreciate such a SINCERE reply. (I knew you couldn't do it. :) Took less than half an hour. :) Give it another try, will ya'?)

Golgo, KR, thats enough. Everybody has their opinions. Opinions have been shared, now lets try to keep from being snide or rude. High Road gentlemen, we have enough enemies outside, no need to insult each other over our choice of clothing.

Is that clear?

They were very popular about the time I was in Jr. High. They are made from nylon (like parachutes) and have lots of pockets. There is a new market for them thanks the 80's retro look that has become popular in some circles.

I have a pair of Carharts that have nearly identical pockets built into them for "tools". A gun is a tool right?
