Dove season is going strong here and since my nephew and his buddies are constantly borrowing my extra shotguns I've been using an old '68 Belgium Auto-5 with fixed modified barrel. It has always been a safe queen but I have really enjoyed using it as a shooter this season.

I'd like to have other choke options and I've looked around at replacement barrels of other choke sizes. Very expensive. Does anyone know if there is a replacement aftermarket barrel that will fit my old A5 that has removable choke tubes like modern auto-loading shotguns?

Any of the Japanese Browning A-5 barrels with choke tubes will Fit, Feed, Fire, and Function Freely on your Belgium A5.

They ain't cheap, and are getting harder to find, but thats the best option.

I saw a nice one at a little gun show yesterday for $225.

Or you could have Mike Orlen in MASS thread you for chokes. There's always Briley as well - even if it means thin walls, either can do the job

Ok, didn't know the Japanese barrels with invector chokes would work. I'd pay $225 all day long. Did a quick search on GB and didn't find anything. I guess I just need to keep a look out.

I like the idea of keeping the original barrel unmolested. I guess I could pick up an extra fixed and have it threaded.

Thanks for the quick answers!

I have a spare A5 Barrel around; with some scratches in the last 2" - i was thinking about having it threaded, but that project got put on the back burner.

If you're interested; i could part with it...too much stuff in the gun closet taking up space.
