a "magazine" is a "box magazine"

a "clip" is a "stripper clip"

Don't watch the show. Wish it would go away. I will never buy anything from these Yahoo's.

Never heard of the show; until this thread started. I'm not much of a TV watcher, and I find the so-called "reality shows" like this to be pretty UNreal!

Sounds like I'm not missing much.

Since American gun came along, that was the final nail in the coffin for me watching any tv station operating under the mask of being educational in any way. Discovery, TLC, History (sometimes), Science, and others lack any educational value, and their channels should not be named as such.
That aside, I watched a grand total of about six or 7 minutes of an episode of Sons of Guns, and I could tolerate it no more. The other one, which I'm fairly sure is American gun, was so upsetting that I gave it almost 15 minutes, allowing myself to get out my thoughts on how stupid they are.
Just bad TV.

The best part of the show in my opinion is Tab Benoit's "Shelter Me" but that's pretty much it. That's what made me give the show a shot (no pun intended) in the first place is Tab Benoit and guns, but I don't really like that show all that much.

They did have a BP cannon, that was pretty cool I have to admit.

But shooting .410's with arrows jammed in the barrel isn't smart, nor is putting a tube of lipstick in the pistol grip of an AR-15 and painting it black and white. That really isn't my thing, of course if it gets girls and women shooting I'm for it.

Hahahaha, i have to laugh.
Aside from Benoit or Sublime, yer days start just like mine............40 years ago lolol
I will certainly check out some Benoit tho.

My wife and i were just talkin about this subject last night.
How music moves foreward.
What i mean by that is that younger generation's music never really transcends, or, gets 'approved' by the older generation, but somehow the older generation's music allways eventualy appeals to the younger.

Never really any real guitar in the Stones, Carlos is ok but Jimi was/is in a league all his own.
Did you know he was a US ARMY RANGER in Vietnam ?

I can't watch the show personally as they always seem to be building something completely over the top. I'm not interested in a patrol boat with guns and bean bag launchers and whatever other useless tacticool stuff they can throw on there. Less vehicle setups and more GUNS please.

It still has its problems too, but "American Guns" at least works on stuff that a regular person might consider owning.

Don't even get me started on Pawn Stars either. Rick Harrison has a successful TV show but still rips people off. Go in there selling a bird in hand, you'll come out with one in the bush

yaa I always go to pawn stores to get the best deals when I am selling stuff:neener:

Who was an Army Ranger in Vietnam? Jimi? Nope. He spent some time in the 101st but got out long before they deployed to RVN. By his own account, he was a lousy soldier and hated the army.

Actually he got busted for stealing a car, and got to make the choice between the army and jail. He picked the army, but got out by pretending to be gay and in love with a fellow soldier, so they kicked him the heck out.

Jim, you make a good point about music. When I'm an old guy I'll probably not like what we have in that day and age. Then Sublime will be like Tennessee Ernie Ford! Sad part is they'll probably look like gentlemen compared to the bands we will have at that time.

Jimi Hendrix-most overrated guitarist ever.

Reality TV-Garbage. Just look at Dog the Bounty Hunter. (shudder)

I liked Dirty Jobs and How it's Made.

FiveStrings..... Who was an Army Ranger in Vietnam? Jimi? Nope. He spent some time in the 101st but got out long before they deployed to RVN. By his own account, he was a lousy soldier and hated the army.

Busyhands...Actually he got busted for stealing a car, and got to make the choice between the army and jail. He picked the army, but got out by pretending to be gay and in love with a fellow soldier, so they kicked him the heck out
.

Thanx FiveStrings and Levi for clearin that up for me.
Looks like ya jist can't believe everything ya see on the Dick Cavet show.
And Jimi sat right there with with ole Dick showin pics in uniform and the whole works jist a fibbin away at all to see on national tv.
I'm crushed,

As has been stated somewhere once or twice in the previous three pages of posts, "There ain't much reality in reality TV."

My son-in-law works as a "Marine Co-ordinator" for the movie industry from time to time. A few weeks ago he calls me and tells me that he's working on a pilot for some reality scuba treasure hunting show that's filming in Arizona. As much as I love him, he's a little naive once in a while, he was very amused that all the "Treasure" that they were finding was actually placed there by the divers before they started shooting.

Regarding Pawn Stars, several years ago when we where staying in Vegas for a few days my wife wanted to go see the pawn shop. Turns out it's quite the tourist attraction nowadays. They were filming the Paul Revere Spoon segment while we were there and we watched take after take while Rick and the customer "negotiated". The most notable thing about going there was a few months later when the show aired we happened to watch it and found that they had done the post interview with the customer using my motorcycle as a backdrop.
