Do Moose and Whitetails get along?

I don't think anything is safe from a bull moose in rut, but other than that most members of the deer family get along just fine.
Whitetails and Moose regularly share the same habitat and browse. Sign, such as scat, tracks, rubs and scrapes should be readily apparent if there are whitetail in the area. If not, the trail cam ain't gonna find 'em.

I wouldn't say they get along like bosom buddies, but I've seen elk, moose, mulies, and white tails out in front of the house at the same time.
They just maintain some distance apart.
In the winter when we're feeding moose will mix right in with the cattle and horses, the others won't.

The problem is, the moose eat the browse up so high, it gives deer problems getting it.

Deer pass brainworm disease to moose. So they don't get along well on that level.
A moose transplant program in MI back in the 1920s or '30s failed partly due to brainworm.

I've seen just about everything brosing side by side with deer. White tails are deffinitely not one's to play well with others when in the rut, as are moose, elk, and antelope. But I think it's safe to say that a moose will take charge in any of the above circumstances, with elk placing second.

Although this isn't really relevant to your question, I do know that white tail deer will breed a mule deer, and they dominate in that way. Out here in Arizona we have the little couse white tail which is only about 65 - 100 lbs. max, but just because they are little doesn't keep them from dominating and cross breeding mule deer weighing twice as much. We have a lot of hybrid mule deer out here that have distick white tail racks as a result.

I never see moose and whities in the same area. Something about Alabama I guess!

My observation has been that they compete for the same food sources in many areas and moose generally win.

Places where I have seen a lot of moose sign have typically held only a small number of deer.

Everyone knows that a moose's best friend is a squirrel.
