Berserkrs were Norse warriors who were reported in old Norse literature to have fought in a nearly uncontrollable, trance-like fury, a characteristic which later gave rise to the English word Berserk.

Get some

March 16 and 17 two separate events at Rifles Only. Both are a 10.8 mile obstacle course and mud endurance run. The track is already up with 8 obstacles built. Expect 20 obstacles in total. Helicopter start with tons of mud and fun.

Tactical Matches changes the whole @&$/? Game. No more individual events, no more BS. Running gun battle with three different systems. Carbines are absolutely key.

Jump out of the bird and game the FRICK ON. Join in or call your mom and tell her that she raised a pansy

October 2013 will be Bersrkr games with carbines. A 17 mile endurance and obstacle course with 10 carbine stations, handgun, and precision rifle. This competition will turn everything you know about competitions on it's head. This is a running gun battle, watch the Rifles Only website for more details and sponsor list.

Rifles Only in conjunction with Tactical Matches and affiliates, as well as several cross fit industry sponsors will forever change the face of firearms competitions. Can you Ruck for 17 miles, solve problems as a team and complete your tasks? Find out? Or not?

sounds like a blast! my vacation is going to go fast next year...

It does sound like a blast, but 17 miles? Not any more son. :)

I'll cover your back, while gasping for breath.

I have never in my life been so angry at my bad knee as I am right now. Might be time to visit the doctor and see if it can be fixed somehow. This sounds like pure fun.

(if you follow that thread, Lisa (wife of Jacob) said you could walk it, and that she has broken knees herself and is planning to walk. heck, i don't move very fast or far myself. but i'm going to try!)

Hey if they have a fat old men on bicycles version, I'm all over it!

But I think the name is a little misplaced, given that a Berserker rage would be horrible for accuracy. You'd end up using your carbine as a club.

Maybe a Mosin Nagant would be a better choice then? :D

I'd be up for it, I've got my EIB and my CIB. I doubt I'd break any land speed records, but I hit what I shoot at winded or not. I'm on active duty though, fat chance I could get away for something like this

Look at it as your warm-up for the 20 mile run with full back pack.

How many O2 tents will they have, I should need one on the first half mile. (LOL) I doubt that my Medicare Part B will cover this.

jogar, very close to you. rifles only is south of kingsville tx.

you will have to watch their website and be quick to register. their events often sell out in the first few seconds.

Impressively cool. From looking at the thread on the other page, it's going to be held in Texas?

Iron law of the military -- as something outside becomes more important to you, there is a corresponding rise in the likelihood of training or whatever else interfering. For a while in my early 20s, I was pretty convinced there was a division or higher SOP that training schedules had to be coordinated to conflict with every concert, friends' weddings, and anything else I might want to take leave to attend.

cosmo, nobody knows details yet, but despite the irony, "Rifles Only" has required you to carry a pistol in every rifle match I've shot down there, through the entire course of fire, and shoot it as part of half the stages.

i'm sure you will not only be carrying your guns and ammo, but also your lunch, etc. especially for the 17mi ruck.

robert, i'm over 40 yo. yeah, my knees and back hurt.
