Hey THR fans! The wife gave me the OK to buy a new gun and i decided on a 1911. I have had the ability to shoot several different varieties and have decided on either the Springfield Loaded Parkerized for $650 or a Sig Sauer Traditional TACOPS for $900. I plan on adding some Wilson Combat accessories and am wondering if the magwell, xt grips, and Sig design is really worth the difference. Also the Sig has a tac rail but that doesnt really bother me. this will be my go to 1911 and bed side gun so i want it to be great. to make matters better i am a lefty so both have an ambi safety. Can anybody help me decide between the 2? Any info that i need to know about the difference in the 2 guns?

At $650 for the Springfield you'll be able to buy a holster and ammo, and you can't beat the Springfield customer service.

shoot safe, shoot straight, and have fun

I like the "combat" size adjustable rear sight on the SIG Model TTT a lot. I also have come to believe that, dollar for dollar, SIG makes the best 1911 pistol on the market today.

I like the SA option. Don't forget to ask for a pair of "hop along boots" to go with your "pistol that shoots". :D

I'm looking to get a SIG Tacops myself, would be my 3rd SIG 1911, both of mine are greatshooters, perfect function. Own a Springer Loaded Longslide, mostly a safe queen these days, great shooter though.

If you are going into the $900 range, just go ahead and get a Colt.

You know you want one. ;)

Even if money wasn't a consideration I'd prefer the SA loaded. Nothing wrong with either one though. Considering your going to be making mods anyways I'd just be looking for a good, solid, platform to do it on.
I like Sigs....but they aren't my first choice for a 1911...go with the springer and use the extra money for ammo.

Saturday morning I ordered a SIG Traditional Tacops 1911 from Bud's, Got an email Monday it is in already! Went there (The Gun Warehouse) tonight to pick it up at 4:15pm, had to take a number! #44, they were serving #13, I'm off Friday, I'll be standing at their door when they open at 9:00.

Springer all the way. Great customer service, reliable as a Glock, good fit & finish, etc..

I have never had a mechanical issue with a SA 1911.....can't say the same about $2,000 + 1911's (are you listening Colt?).
