A THR knife PICTURE thread?!?!

I know batoning is a pretty big deal around here. Here is the tough Schrade SMEDY after some grueling batoning action. Sorry, I had too much time on my hands this afternoon :)

Cameron,

It's not like I don't have plenty of knives- and a co-conspirator to help me make more- but I'm kinda jealous of that Yojimbo 2. :)

Mr. Davison, beautiful work as always. I especially like that little black-handled fixed blade.

John

Don't make me cry. :)

I am back in the US, and have my Translucent still. Unfortunately, I had problems with the clips on most of the EDC Spydercos while deployed. In the case of the TM2, the clip loosened enough to fall off, and I haven't replaced it yet. I've been carrying a Persian 2 and/or a Daily Kiri most days.

John

Welcome back, John. You're still alive.
You must be doing something right. :)

Are axes welcome in the 'knife thread'?

I mean, axes are like knife blades with a perpendicular handle.

Here are my latest two. (See attached below.) Best I've ever owned.

Add a Spyderco Bushcraft, Helle Nying and ESEE Izula and I'm good to go.
(I'll add those three to the photo soon so I'm not OT.
Just got a new camera. Taking a night off
after just getting the wildlife hatchet
6 hours ago. Kid w/ new toy.)

Hope to add THR commemorative edition.
You said it'd be nice. Looks like you were right.

Ok, axes.

Both Gransfors Bruks. Top to bottom:
  • Wildlife hatchet
  • Kubben (carving axe)
Same head (by MM). Different handles.
Kubben is on an adze handle.

Choke up on either one, you've got a 3" knife that weighs a lb.

^ (Smiles.)

Thanks, John. I promise I'll take some shots of those two find tools this weekend with their knife buddies and post them up.

And, by the way, for the record: I wrote above that "you must be doing something right". What I meant was, you must have done everything right! Congratulations! And thanks for what you do, and thanks for your contributions to this forum. Still one of the best I've ever participated on. :)

As promised.

This is my current kit.
'Kit' means for bushcraft training.
Only one of the axes rides in the pack
(an Eberlestock Halftrack - best I've ever worn).

Cast of characters, top to bottom.

* Gransfors Bruks Wildlife Hatchet
* Spyderco Bushcraft
* Helle Nying
* ESEE Izula 2
* Gransfors Bruks Kubben

Without flash, with flash.

I just bought this Zero Tolerance 301 last week. I'm no knife guru but it's definitely the most solid, best made folder I've ever owned. Shown next to my Ka-Bar for comparison.

This is just one of em. Cold Steel Recon Tanto, it is being put through some testing right now, and at the moment seems practically unbreakable:cool:

My Fox Karambit :D The Emerson wave feature is so slick (lets you open the blade whilst drawing it from your pocket, faster than a switchblade but much more legal)
